I heavily recommend Three Lives Three World, Ten Miles of Peach Blossom! <3 I love it to bits.

I'm doing a detailed chapter by chapter summary of it for my sister to convince her to read it. Here's the link if anyone else is interested:

Hey May, yeah I love Hamster’s translations! I read her version before reading the novel in Chinese. I’m summarising it also again as a way of re-living the book haha 🙂

    Hello!

    Following from my previous comment,

I’ve finished the detailed summary of the book (it took me 4 entries haha!):

    Part 1: http://onesecondspring.blogspot.sg/2013/12/three-lives-three-worlds-ten-thousand.html
    Part 2: http://onesecondspring.blogspot.sg/2013/12/three-lives-three-worlds-ten-thousand_10.html

    Part 4: http://onesecondspring.blogspot.sg/2013/12/three-lives-three-worlds-ten-thousand_21.html

I’m going to post a review and analysis soon. After re-reading the book so many times, I’m full of thoughts about it and I would love to discuss the book with anyone <3! Thanks 🙂

Oh my god, this book spoiled me rotten after reading Chang Xiang Si! It’s like pure sugar gushing out of the book! I absolutely loved the happy ending and the rainbow and unicorns prancing everywhere! At first I was really confused since it made Ye Hua sound like the antagonist, yet in the synopsis, him and BaiCian were fated. So I had this strong distaste against him when he showed up again. But slowly I saw where the story was going and their little child is adorbs! There wasn’t really a true evil in this story, but more of CianCian’s internal conflict and her series of past suitors. I mean I felt like MoYuan had some feelings for her but decided not to confess. Same deal with the whole Xiao Yao – Xiang Liu situation except I liked YeHua’s character. He’s the same smart lovesick puppy business man like Jing except with Xiang Liu’s … what do I call it, more playful? More advancing, just everything I’d want put into a guy ^_^

Also, I felt that reading TangQiGongZi’s writing was a lot more difficult than Tong Hua’s. So it took me awhile cus I had to refer to the translations for some things I didn’t quite understand. It was moving quite slowly in the beginning but definitely definitely worthwhile and I’d recommend it to everyone! ^_^

Glad you like the book. Then you should continue with the pillow book which I feel is an even better book. Ye Hua lacks humour and bai qian is not cute enough. Hua xu yin is my fav tang qi novel but you must have lots of tissues. Tang qi is verbose and uses poetic Chinese words but I like how she can evoke tears and laughter within a sentence or paragraph.

Guys, does any of you own the physical book in Chinese? If so, can you tell me whether the chapters have chapter titles? I don’t see them in the online version, but I do see them in my Vietnamese book, which I’m wondering if the Vietnamese ppl just made them up or what…

    TIA!

I don’t have the physical book but I can tell you they do have titles, the old & revised one. Haha, I doubt the Viet ppl are so creative to make them up. You can check baidu to confirm: http://baike.baidu.com/subview/2101817/5395273.htm

Btw hamster, are you going to translate the extra bits in the revised version since you are editing your translations? Also, someone told me Pillow Book is banned in China, is that true?

I hope I’m not double posting… my comment didn’t post for some reason -_-

I knew I could count on you Peanuts! I’m using Kanunu.org’s version as my source. I don’t even know if it’s the old or revised version. Do you have a recommendation for the most updated version? If not, I’ll just translate from what I have. I do plan to include everything this time around.

I didn’t even know there was someone else who liked 10 Miles as much as I did (I do stay in my hole a lot)… Decembi, you can talk to me! I always hear grumbles about how much of a douche YH is, and I sound like a refrain trying to defend him.

PB is banned in China? That’s the first I’ve heard of it. But it’s funny you should mention, because I was musing the other day about how much SARFT would like it that T7 completely made sh!t up about a religious figure. But then I thought communists don’t have religions anyway, so why would they care about some Daoist guy?

Hello hamster! 🙂 Hahahaha yes, I love love love 10 Miles and will gladly join you in defending Ye Hua. I’m a fan of your translations as well 🙂

I don’t know why Ye Hua is disliked so. I always knew he had a proper reason for why he did the things he did and hid the things he did, it’s just written in his DNA like the reason why he wore black robes – he just liked to take on the pain himself and not worry the people he love. Of course, that is not wise at all, and I do think Ye Hua and Bai Qian Qian’s second chance was the road they both had to go on to learn more about each other, because the first time they only had love without knowledge, and it is with great hope that the second time around, they will have both love and understanding 🙂

Actually Ye Hua is well-liked or else this book won’t be so popular. Just that I like the big bully & more funny Dong Hua bettter. Decembi is bias bcos Ye Hua can cook well like her hubby…cough cough lol.

I think the kanunu is the old version bcos of the date of posting. There are so many text floating around so I don’t know which is the revised version unless I read them all to compare lol. But I did manage to find this for you which I hope is useful http://tieba.baidu.com/p/2049723941?pn=1 I printed all your translations last year & now you are revising them. Oh, all those poor trees:P Anyway I hope the revised version is better and bring more love to your Ye Hua, lol.

A reader in my blog told me the PB is banned bcos of the recent on-going crackdown on Chinese novels. Maybe it is the fantasy element that is not sitting well with the censors. This could be why until now 3L3W10MPB has not been adapted into a drama or film and HXY’s adaptation has been changed beyond recognition.

Hehe I love this book more than the pillow book as well. I find Donghua’s personality unbearable and comes on a bit too strong at times. YeHua’s the perfect man despite me being really confused of his actions until reading the epilogue and finding out how much he sacrifice or how much he valued his love for Susu (Bai Qian). Some people say Bai Qian isn’t charming or fun enough but I like her, she’s a strong character who takes things heads on. Loved the whole BaiQian-LiJing-XunNu battle royale and seeing the protective side of YeHua. The audiobook from ximalaya is like my bedtime lullaby, I’m still waiting for updates on the next chapter even though I’ve read the book like twice already :3

Hahahaha, peanuts! Indeed, I’m biased towards Ye Hua 🙂

I agree with AcrossTime! I also like Bai Qian’s head on character 🙂

every time i wrote a long @$$ reply on my phone, it ended up not posting -_- it’s 1am, i need to sleep!

@peanuts – i was gonna put the new translations into PDF so you could print more easily… or not print at all lol

@decembi & Acrosstime – me too, i’m Yehua biased. I thought it was really apparent that there was more than meets the eyes, and that he had truly cared for her. And even though the mystery of what went down that year was one of the story’s main pulls, like Bai Qian, I didn’t really care at the end. Hearing about it made me love him more, but not knowing about it wouldn’t have made me love him less. He showed himself to be an upstanding man throughout the present events that the past wasn’t that relevant anymore. I know he kinda decided everything on his own back then, but he was an immortal trying to protect a human, which is vastly different from a man and woman of equal divinity. In this respect, I agree with decembi that they needed another go at their relationship. Love alone can’t sustain a relationship. They needed to have mutual understanding as well. Susu as a human couldn’t have had the same comprehension of the world they lived in and the gravity of their fate. It was worse that she was born without any human interactions and was even more lala in the head than normal humans. “Oh, Crown Prince of Heaven, okay” should’ve been “Friggin Royalty of Heaven, with immortality and magic! Holy sh!t” Bai Qian needed to be Bai Qian so she could also protect him. I do find BQ to be a little ‘wiser than thou’ but considering how long she had lived, I can see it being reasonable.

I agree with Acrosstime that DH is overbearing and sometimes makes me feel smothered. FJ is also too lala in the head for my taste. They’re a cute couple, but I can only take them in small dosage. Haha I shouldn’t be saying this as translator else ppl are gonna say I’m badmouthing my works.

Ok really need to get into bed now.

Cxt8 and ximalaya are being audited by the censorship department just like 19lou so a lot of the audio books have been taken down and no new work:((((( I think there are 4 versions of the audio books so I don’t know which version you are looking for and if I can find it. You try to google for it as the pirate sites may have a version or 2 or wait until later when someone may re-upload it when the coast is clear.

I only manage to find 3 versions so see if your fav one is there.

It’s the version by 凌陶 (ling tao) she had 24 episodes out, then had to take it down because of censorship :/ It was really awesome though, she started out with only her voice then there was some male collabs for YeHua & other male characters as well. She said to message her, but I haven’t heard a reply from her yet 🙁

Is it this version? How do you download this since I can’t read Chinese:(? I also want a copy since I can’t stand single voice audio book.

FYI, bcos of this stupid censorship, we won’t be getting any new audio book:(((( I think Bu Lan De and Mian Mian the anchors for WGTW were planning to record a new novel.

My dear peanuts, thanks for finding it! What would I do without youuu. You need access to an iPad/tablet to download the baidu lebo app to be able to download the files. But the app itself is like ximalaya… so you don’t actually possess the actual files but you can listen to it when you’re offline 😡 I love voice actress because she has a more southern accent, which is really easy on the ears. The first few chapters doesn’t have a male voice, but it’s still good. Also I think you need to login via weibo/QQ or something to access the app. Andd what’s your weibooo :3 (I only use it to stalk celebrities so I don’t actually have friends on it LOL)

I got into this story after starting on the drama version. So I found the audio version and listened to it. I love Bian Qian, she’s straight forward, good to those who are good to her and doesn’t let others bully her, pays them back fully if they did her wrong. I wish the ending had a bit more, I want to see her being crowned as his wife officially. I also feel sorry for her teacher, he definitely loves her but kept quiet.

    @ Yanssen

浮生梦·三生约/ 百里长安 Floating Dreams, The Promise of 3 Lifetimes – 叶笑 <– sounds similar to 3l3w somewhat lol

仗剑一笑踩蘑菇 With One Smile, the Sword Tramples the Mushroom – 囡囝囚团 (Nan Jian Qiu Tuan)

Little Phoenix is Not an Immortal 小凤不是仙 by Shu Ke 蜀客

三生,忘川无殇 (Sansheng, Wangchuan Wu Shang) Sansheng, Death Exists Not at the River of Oblivion – 九鷺非香

Read Pillow Book (sequel to 10 miles of peach blossom) if you want another work from this author

1st novel and fourth novel deal with three lifetimes. 2nd and 3rd novels deal with deities and the three realm-ish ( I'm not too sure about the 2nd novel since i didnt read it)
