Lovers usually find a way to be together, but she has a husband, and he has wives. As a Imperial Consort with an illicit lover, how could she deal with herself in this situation? But he did not let her escape. The domineering him said: “I have never cared how the world sees me. From now on, you are mine. You can only be by my side, within my embrace, and in my bed.” Looking at this despotic and demonic man, she was bewildered. Unable to act independently, can she really play out this incestuous game with him?
I think Chancy has read this book before. I like the strong female lead. I’m curious to see who she will end up with. There’s Chu Jun Han, the Crown Prince, who was once betrayed by the only woman he loved. He helps Xue Heng Wu when his brother Chu Jun Yi shamed her in public by running away on their wedding day. As he encounters Xue Heng Wu more, he begins to secretly fall in love with her. Even though he is the Crown Prince, he knows that his brothers are plotting against him, so he mercilessly retaliates.
There’s also Chu Jun Hao, the 8th Prince, who fell in love with Xue Heng Wu at first sight. When her beauty was marred by assassins, he vowed to bring her to the best doctor. When she was poisoned, he fought with his 4th Brother to take her to the Miracle Healer. Although he has several concubines, he only loves Xue Heng Wu and makes no secret about it. He is the primary contender for the throne against the Crown Prince.
Hey xiaoyuer, you have a fetish for consorts, lol? This is a non cxt8 production? How is the reading? I don’t fancy single reader. Btw I can’t use my iPad to listen to anything on cxt8 website, you know how to overcome it?
Adulterous couple? Eeeeeee I don’t like married men, somemore the woman is also married. I will give this a miss since got no cgege, haha unless you tell me the reading or story is excellent.
Hahaha, you bet I do. I just like ancient palace drama. So many hot princes to choose from!
I think the reader is pretty good and the production is high quality. She does male voices pretty well, though I think she sometimes get confused as to who is speaking. -.-”
I also don’t like adulterous couples (really disliked The Third Kind of Love), but this story almost doesn’t feel adulterous. Her husband loves another woman and she is his wife in name only. The two brothers who are vying for her affections married other women to increase the support behind them.
The story’s pretty good. The female lead actually has another name, 无双公子. She was the tactician who put the emperor of a neighboring country on the throne. Her wuxia abilities are topnotch and she accidentally seduced the Crown Prince when she was drunk. That scene was hilarious. The Crown Prince is definitely the male lead, love it when he gets jealous. 8th Prince sucks because he chose the jiangshan over the meiren.
i never finished it, but its pretty good. i actually ship eighth prince, but crown prince is good too. haha i like the reader even though it is one reader. at where u are who seems more likely to be the main guy? my only niffy pick wirh this is that she time traveled, but that didnt really effect the story much. thought that was randomly thrown in.
think i can pick up on this story.
I’m at the part where she find out that she is pregnant with Chu Jun Han’s child. I think Chu Jun Han is the male lead because of all the men her life, that is the only one she claims to love. My favorite guy at the moment is General Xuan Yuan Qing Yang (lol, sound familiar?). He’s so sweet and he’s a foodie like I am, haha!
I don’t like Eighth anymore because he chose the jiangshan over Xue Heng Wu. My affection for him died at that point. As for the Crown Prince, I don’t like how 霸道 he is. Everything has to go his way. I usually like bossy and jealous male leads, but he is to the point that it’s a bit oppressive. Also, I didn’t like how he tried to force her during the first almost sex scene.
Xuan Yuan Qing Yang is patiently by her side, protecting her. He treats her like she is something precious to him, and despite knowing her relationship with Chu Jun Han, he remains by her side. Oh, and out of the men in her life, he is the only one who can truly give her what she wants – to be a man’s one and only love/wife. This book is so long, I’m only half way through and I’m dying to know what happens. Where did you leave off, Chancy?
><
haha Yes, so familiar. Even same last name. lol
I'll save this for reading on the airplane.
Started reading/ marathoning the book over the weekend!
Am at the third volume now and I realized some chapters are VIP access including the last chapter. Is there anywhere else I can read it ? Tried to google but they are usually incomplete.
My fav male character is Xuan Yuan Qing Yang!!! He is so caring and considerate to her and they have similar interests too ! Plus he was the first guy from Chu country to have met her. Also, he might have been married to her if the Chu emperor agreed with his wife’s suggestion. But I guess then this story wouldn’t be called the Demonic Emperor’s Favoured consort.
At the moment, Crown Prince seems to have chosen jiang shan over mei ren but am hoping that it is a trick because he promised Huang Bo Lin he would take care of Xue Heng Wu.
Managed to find a site and read the rest of the story (but it has dubious pop ups)
The story really has a lot of twists and turns. Kind of felt like a detective novel (who tried to ruin her face/ put abortive medicine in SuSu’s food etc) all revealed at the end. Really kind of sad actually.
Without being too spoilery, the main couple kind of get their happy ending. But too many people sacrificed in the process.
Surprised by the time traveling element. More than one person has time travelled here. Not too sure if it is relevant to the plot but there are some witty moments when the time travelers start discussing stuff.
Overall, it was a good and entertaining read. Loved the strong female characters – Xue Heng Wu is definitely no weakling, loved how generous, good and cool she remained in spite of going through so much, her friendships with the other characters, she definitely deserved all that love. The male characters are interesting – they loved Xue Heng Wu, some loved her too much to the point of hurting her, some loved her quietly and steadfastly, too bad there is only one Xue Heng Wu.
Hope to hear more thoughts on the novels when you all have listened/read it 🙂
I’m at that part where Yin Hai Tang was basically raped by Duan Hao. I sped through the first 60 audiobook chapters but I’m having such a hard time continuing because the story is so sad. The only guy I like in the novel is Xuan Yuan Qing Yang. I feel so disenchanted with all the other characters. Even though Chu Jun Han tells her to trust him, as a reader, I cannot trust him and I find her staying with him even though he married other women contradictory to her personality. Didn’t she say that she wanted to be a man’s one and only?
Yeah, I liked how the author worked in the time traveling as well. It’s fresh. Two girls traveling at the same time, into the same time period, but into separate lives, find each other as a source of comfort through all their trials and tribulations.
I want more XYQY scenes. I have a feeling that he is going to sacrifice himself so she gets her happy ending with Chu Jun Han but I am hoping that it wont be the case.
Hi Xiaoyuer, how’s your progress on the book? Last week was a rollercoaster of emotions because our family dog disappeared. Then we managed to find him again after a kind family who saw his poster contacted us.
Actually I also skipped some chapters that were less interesting to me. Also I wanted to know the ending of the story as soon as possible. My habit is to read as fast as I can the first time round then go back and read and slowly savour if I like the storyline.
Regarding your comments on Chu Jun Han and XYQY, I don’t think I can say much now without giving away the ending. But if you’re fine with spoilers will be happy to provide them 🙂
So I finally finished this book. I was so hooked on it in the beginning, but I don’t like how Chu Jun Han lies to/betrays her again and again but she still stays with him. A guy like that doesn’t deserve her. If he talked to her I might have forgiven him, but he tried to hide everything from her to “protect” her. His lies and betrayal just hurt her more.
Xuan Yuan Qing Yang is definitely the best male character. Faithful, undemanding, and will always choose meiren over jiangshan.
I’m also sad that Yin Hai Tang ended up staying with her dastardly husband. He murdered her child and raped her. I understand that he is remorseful for his past actions, but there are some things you just don’t forgive.
And did anyone else find Xiao Shu Zi very annoying? I know she also travelled in time to get to the past but she should have known to act more her age.
My verdict? 6/5
Qualitatively: 6
How much I liked it: 5
How exactly is this time travel?
Does anyone have a brief summary of this story because by listening to the audio and looking at the conversations above I’m a bit lost. Is the princess from another time. what happens to her.
Does anyone know what happen to the husband of the princess and how she end up with the crown prince
I liked the summary, but when reading all the comments, I get a terrible Chaos of Beauty vibe, with male leads choosing country and power and the devoted general, who is the only one who treats her well.
