Oh xiaoyuer, you stole my Cgege, lol. Anyway, thanks for posting since it is hard to translate such a long title to make sense. The female reader is the girl from your fav book Eastern Palace. I don’t really fancy her. Anyway I will support Cgege’s book but this will take sometime to finish updating.

I’ve listened to chapter 1 at the weekend & even recommended it to atsu bcos I know both of you like this kind of palace angst:P Although the modern Xiao Jue is not really the male lead, I dislike him very much. I read some spoilers so I think I know the ending which can be considered happy yet not really. I am not sure I read the correct spoiler. I read a modern book by this author before but that book is quite funny yet this book feels sad:(

    Spoiler !!!!

Don’t worry, I think she is not gonna end up with the modern & ancient Xiao Jue. According to what i’ve read, in the ancient time, she won’t end up with Xiao Jue but another guy. In the modern era, she’ll end up with the ancient Xiao Jue but he is not called Xiao Jue in the modern era but another name. Haha, sound convoluted? When I was listening to the spoilers with my limited mandarin, my head was spinning, lol.

醉枕江山 – This book is rather popular at cxt8 but I’ve not checked it out.

梦落芳华 – The male in this book is number 33 in my top 35 fav male characters in novels posted on my blog. The story is quite sad, maybe right up your alley.

    Hi!!!! Landlord is back. lol

I saw this book some days ago, but totally passed it by, but I just realized that the girl reader was the one who read Eastern Palace when Peanuts mentioned. !!!!! I would really love to try this book out now because the reader pairing is one I’d really like listening too. I also like the torturing others torturing yourself type of angst. hahaha

Confusing, so Xiao Jue ancient and Xiao Jue modern is not one soul? They just share the same name?

I hope the ending won’t be as bad as Eastern Palace. >< I don't like those kinds of endings.

Huh, you like the Eastern Palace reader? I find something wrong with her reading tone & speed, need more training.

Yah, some readers complain it is illogical that the modern Xiao Jue is not the ancient Xiao Jue when their characters are fairly similar. Ancient Xiao Jue reincarnated to become the male lead in modern era who’ll end up with the female lead.

You can consider it has a happy ending. Although ancient Xiao Jue didn’t end up with the female lead, modern Xiao Jue who has a different name will end up with the female lead. The bottomline is if you can’t end up with your beloved this life, no worries, there is still next life, lol.

    Oh Yes.
I finally went and started listening. Sigh – I think I’m shipping the wrong guy. Lol. Am shipping Ancient Xiao Jue even though he’s a bastard. Then can’t stand the suspense of not knowing the ending so went to scan the ebook ending.

    I’m torn….

It’s very heart wrenching when the mc faked her death, inorder to leave her husband. The reaction of the guy made me almost burst into tears, tsk tsk. Another reason why a couple should talk precisely to clear up misunderstandings and not shoulder the huge burden alone. Seriously, that doesn’t make you look cool. I’d love to smack that stone head of yours, like duh!
Some says here that the modern ml doesn’t have the same name with the ancient one, that the husband of mc coincidentally, unfortunately, blessed with the same name. (I felt sorry for that dude) but it doesn’t make me feel enough compassion to the modern ml to end up with the mc back in ancient, like literally he caused the death of most of her loved ones for the sake of revenge, even have the guts to tell the mc that he’ll treasure her in the next lifetime in his own wedding day with another girl?! Talk about narcissism (Which by the way got destroyed by the mc causing her death and the guy maybe) while the dude in ancient, the husband only ignored her, did not hurt her physically and no killings of clan happened, though he threatened not to flee otherwise, and only had a freaking concubine only because she looked similar to his first love who was killed indirectly by mc and her sister, though it’s also the girl’s fault. So much frustrations…. I haven’t finished the book yet, but the ml with different name as they say, sure is passable due to how his character was portrayed and made a good guy with no hatred against mc’s or her family. That’s the reason why he wasn’t hindered while the poor guy(husband) was full of guilt to his first love that he can’t bring himself to close up to mc though he knew he’s falling.
