B000132894

The worries about a small piece of toffee, a protection given without regrets, the shackles from a thread of fresh blood… Dong Fang Xiao, whose family background is unknown, accidentally becomes a vampire, and subsequently, surreal, almost laughable events occur, one after another. She also encounters an angel from her childhood again. What kind of story will unfold between them? When the forever unobtainable happiness turns into faith, what kind of ending will she have when she gets placed on trial?

The sequel is Magical Candy House.

Yeah, the vampire theme was why I didn’t read it when I tried Meng San Sheng’s other novels, but I’ve read the first couple of chapters and it’s quite amusing. The main girl is rather funny, she reminds me of Yan Song of Life is a Twice Blooming Flower. The male lead hasn’t appeared yet though…

Nice book cover but I also don’t like vampire story. However, I am open-minded enough to give it a twirl if xiaoyuer say the guy is worth my blood being suck by him, heehee

hehe we are all allergic to vampires! But if it’s good, I’ll endure it. First it’s Meng San Sheng, 2nd it’s chinese take on it??

xia0yuer remember to rave to us if it’s good!!! We need encouragement hehe

I’m about half way through right now and I am enjoying it immensely. The female lead reminds me of Yan Song with her humor and one of the male leads remind me of Fu Jiu Yun from Kill Three Thousand Crows. The female lead, Xiao Xiao also adopts a little white pet (mix between a cat and a dog?) and he is soooooo adorable, but I’m pretty sure he’s actually the third male lead in disguise. I haven’t quite figured out who is the first male lead yet because the F9Y-like guy appears in more scenes but Xiao Xiao obviously still likes her childhood crush.

Come read with me!! I’m liking it more than Chong Zi and it’s a pretty short read (45 audiobook episodes).

I gave it a try last nite but didn’t really concentrate. Just heard something abt toffee, haha….She works in a sweet shop? Also heard that she has no identification. So many males. I scare sad ending in that the male I ship doesn’t end up with her:( This reader loves to do 梦三生 & Tong Hua’s books. I quite like her as she has a cute & childlike voice. She is currently reading a new book which also sound light-hearted. Even if I start listening now, you’ll be finished in the next 2 days. I still need to catch up with the other 2 featured readings:( If you give your seal of approval to this book, I’ll listen to it later:)

I’m skeptical about the whole vampire thing, but if xia0yuer says it’s good, I’m willing to give it a twirl! I’m the same as Peanuts, waiting for the seal of approval 🙂

Why are there so many books I want to read and not enough time in a day? It’s like being a kid in a candy store except worse.

I’ll wait too. I have 3 books currently reading. I do plan to come back to this one. I love the reader too much to pass any book she’s read. That other Meng San Seng novel about 3kingdoms was exception. I tried really hard.

Same here. The first book was somewhat interesting but the second book just made me want to pull my hair out. Especially since Cao Cao was such an terrible male lead…

But the F9Y-like guy (his name is Luo Te) is really adorable and I’m totally shipping him right now. The vamp who accidentally turned her (his identity is unknown right now, but I think he is actually her pet, Xiao Bai) deserted her and Luo Te “adopted” her. He flirts shamelessly with her but he’s always the one who comes to save her when she’s in trouble. I will update more after I finish. 😀

I also like Si Lu Min Yin. The first book of hers I listened to was DMY and I thought that her voice was a bit shrill, but now her voice is my favorite along with A’Shou.

Dump her? What did she turn into? Lol

She’s also my first audiobooks reader. After reading so many books i still like her best. A bias liking i think.

He turned her into a vampire of course. 😛

That scene was hilarious. The vamp bit her and her reaction was: “He actually dared to bite me?! He must not want to live anymore!” And she bit him back. Ahahaha — I just love the female lead. 😀

    SPOILER:

I read some google translated reviews that this is a good & interesting book but very sad. Oh no, sob sob….I better wait for xiaoyuer’s review b4 I jump too deep inside as I’ve just finished chapter 3. I’ve a feeling it might turn out like Eastern Palace, happy in 1st half & sad in 2nd half:( Btw, I think this book got Part 2 奇妙糖果屋.

omg, I think I might have reached the sad part. Part 2 (奇妙糖果屋) doesn’t have an audiobook… Gahhhhhh.

Luo Te, Luo Te… I am head over heels in love with him. <3

Is part 2 required or is it just a sequel? or is part 1 completes the story already?

    Finally finished this. 😀

I liked this book, but am not too crazy over it because I felt that it was a bit repetitive. DFX goes somewhere, gets in trouble, and is saved by Luo Te/Xiao Bai/Michael/Satan. Her quirky humor is uplifting in what would be a repetitive plot.

There are too many guys in such a short book, so character development for them was basically nil. I could tell that each of them had feelings for her, but I felt that most of their feelings was from their previous relationships with Bai Yan Xi or Lilith. Satan and Michael didn’t come in until halfway through the novel, and Jia Si was ‘hitting the soy sauce’ for most of the book, so my favorite characters are DFX (obviously), Luo Te and Wen Ren Bai (Xiao Bai). I cried when Xiao Bai died to save DFX from hellfire. T.T

Of all the men, I think Luo Te sacrificed the least for her, but he was there when she needed someone the most. There’s an open ending for them, but I do think she has feelings for him. Will try the sequel when I have time.

Love, love that scene near the end when Satan needs to change into his true form to destroy those monsters, but someone needs to make him angry so DFX tried to punch him. He merely steps out of the way, almost making DFX fall. She angrily says that she wants a divorce and he immediately becomes angry and changes to his true form. She thinks to herself, wahhh, it was so easy to make him angry, why did I put in so much effort before? And then, she realizes that all his anger is directed at her… 😀

    8/6
