Wipe Clean After Eating 吃干抹净 by 妃姑娘 Fei Gu Niang (HE)

I: “General manager, I only said I will cook but did not agree to wash the dishes.”
He: “If you don’t wash the dishes, do you expect me to wash them?”
I: “Do you know a woman is most attracted to a man who can do housework? Especially when he is wearing an apron and washing the dishes. This is the ideal image of a good man in the thinking of a majority of the women. In order to create the prefect image of a good man, I feel it is necessary for you to wash the dishes.”
He: “A man who washes the dishes is really very attractive?”
I: “Really!”
He: “Well, I will believe you this once.”
He: “Xia Ye, come into the kitchen.”
I: “Do you need me to help you with something?”
He: “Just stand there and don’t move.”
I: “…..?”
I: “If there is nothing I can help you with, I’ll go out.”
He: “Standstill!”
I: “You asked me to come in, just to….. watch you wash the dishes?”
Me: “If you don’t watch, what is the point of me washing the dishes?”
I: “…..”

He is distressed: “I fell in love with a person, but I do not know how to say to her.”
I suggested: “This is simple! Directly tell her I love you, should be all right?”
He is worried: “But …… I’m worried that she will not accept me.”
I comforted: “How can since you are such an outstanding man? There must be something wrong with her brain if she doesn’t accept you!”
He nodded: “Well, I love you!”
I: “…… Huh, there is something wrong with my brain ……”
He: “……”

Oooh thanks for the email. I think boss-employee novels are becoming my favourites! Haha. Shall read this!

I read finish another Su Su novel, 红旗不倒,彩旗飘飘, yesterday, also boss-employee. She writes like she’s Stephen Chow. Haha. I will do a write up on her when I’m free.

    <3 thanks for the recommendation.

Omg……all these yummy books are being hurled towards me left, right and center. And I’m not reading fast enough. But all the same, I still feel like crying tears of happiness for all the recent postings.

    Haha XinnXinn is so funny.

Thanks so much, peanuts! Really one of the better boss employee novels I’ve read in a while! Nothing new, but written in such an enjoyable fashion. 🙂 I think I still prefer light fluff rather than angsty modern novels. Haha.

Glad you like this book Peanuts. 😛

Haha Poor Xia Ye, everyone is against her (her mother, her colleagues, his brother, his neighbor..). And He LOVES to tease her. I love this guy, he will do everything that she likes… like wash the dishes, walking around with the towel… A thousand years fox who like to mislead her in a very natural way. kekeke

And his mother… omg… hope I won’t have a mother-in-law like her. “A woman will never dare to wear her most pretty dress”. Poor father.

Hahaha! No lah, I read quite fast for modern novels but not for ancient novels. Also, cos I usually go out only on weekends here in HK, and rather like to just go back after work, and read a good book! Life here is more quiet compared to at home 🙂

Oh I agree! The length is really good! I think 50 chapters is perfect for most novels. The doctor part was so random! I rather wondered if the author planned to write a book for the doctor actually haha! And the male lead’s younger brother is so poor thing and funny. I don’t really recall his change of name! Oops. May have read too fast.

Short, sweet and silly. Decembi is right, this type of books can’t be too lengthy although I still thought that the ending was a bit of a rush. But I’m not really complaining. I can eat truckloads of these books and not get indigestion, geez, will I ever grow out of such taste. Haha..for the record again, I’m QinQing (Kao), GuanXiaoYan (Flash), AnXiaoLi, XiaoTu and Shan Shan all rolled, mashed and baked into one!! Or maybe now hv to add Xia Ye into the main ingredient as well…..

I adore our cute janitor, Xiao Qian. He’s so funny and cute. Xia Ye really know how to mock him with her sarcasm. U guys remember the part when he followed them to the zoo. And Xia Ye told the zookeeper to remember Xiao Qian’s face becoz she doesn’t want the keeper to think that they stole one of the zoo’s monkey on their way out later!!!!

Thanks everyone for the this easygoing book. Hey, hey….now I am going to get my hands all bloodied. Close Your Eyes, here I come….

Guilty as charged, speed read too fast, overlooked your comments there, lol.

I shall find myself an abacus to kneel, sorry Shi Fu.

But one day, I shall write a novel based on XX or commissioned Gu Man to write about me…..the fu hei lead would be tailored made for me by me. Slurppppeee….haha…ok….getting back to Close Your Eyes.

I haven’t read this yet (the Chinese ebook or Peanuts’s translations), but I literally laughed out loud when I read the opening just now.

I read off from right after Peanut’s translated introduction dialogue in the synopsis, in the phone scene where Lu Jun calls Xia Ye to

    Spoiler Inside SelectShow

. OMG, if the entire book is filled with ensued hilarious scenes like these, I’m definitely going to have a new favorite.

LMAO!!! I just got past the scene with the “苹果三代 / 苹果三袋” homophone. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!! Oh god, dying of laughter. 😀 😀 😀 I mean, neither person’s interpretation is wrong, that’s what makes this scene so funny.

Lu Jun’s the best!! I’m already loving him! I also love how his words can always be cause for misinterpretation by the simple-minded Xia Ye! =X If I had been drinking any liquids, I’d probably would have spit it out all over my laptop screen right now.

I’m sorry guys, I’m really realllllly far behind so please bear with my fangirlish comments. =X Hehehehe

I have just finished reading this book and I think I know what you guys mean when you say “fu hei”. It means “black belly” right? For a while, I thought you guys are speaking cantonese where “fu hei” means “lofty”.

This book is funny! The characters are a bit one dimensional but some jokes are a riot. A thumbs-up from me as well.

All these mention of “fu hei” reminded me of this book which I read previously called 腹黑小爸 (Black Bellied Dad) by 罂粟. Do give it a try if you find it among the audio books. It is an office romance where a junior executive found himself to be the dad of an abandoned baby. It is not laugh-out loud like Wipe Clean After Eating but it is funny, heartwarming and engaging. The book length is similar Wipe Clean After Eating.

    Hello..

I’d like to thank you for your wonderful translations and updates..

Due to your fun translations, I dare say that I am turning into a c-novel fan.

I enjoy your translations for ‘come and eat Shan Shan’ and ‘checkmate your heart’. I hope I could read the next update for ‘wipe clean after eating’.

Do you have other ‘black belly’ (I’m not sure if I understand this term properly?!) English translations you may recommend?

Hopefully you could spare some time from you busy schedule to make updates…

    Thanks in advance 🙂

Another Boss-secretary romance….. Maybe that’s why I hv poor associatation with secretary…hee hee…the dialogue in the books are very fu-hei (black belly) and even thought our female lead is a little silly and slow, there are a few occasion where she can render her boss and his brother speechless…all the typical setting are there, the boss getting revenge and fall in love, she being ditch by ex BF, get boss to pretend to be her new bf, “baking a bun in the oven” etc…I just feel a little pity that the side charecters were not fully developed. Her mum, the gynea date, her ex bf, his brother etc..overall it’s a short, ligh hearted story….I have a good laugh at some of their exchange of words…thanks
