This book is quite highly rated but it is another time travel novel:( The audiobook seems short so I wonder if it has the full story. I am allergic to anything over 100 chapters. Also, the quality of the reading is questionable so those who can read Chinese, maybe better off reading the ebook. I post this book bcos of this MV, lol http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/T8zv-NZpTJc

Can we please, please start posting period novels. I’m so sick of modern novels, but I’m pretty much caught up with Floating Dreams. A’Shou needs to record more quickly!

Oh! How is Wallace’s Horizon, Moon, Saber drama so far, chancy? I have only watched 6 episodes so far but stopped due to time constraints. Plus, how come Ming Yue Xin looks older next to Wallace’s Fu Hong Xue? *sigh* This is like TLTSILY with Li Xiaoran looking older than Wallace all over again.

There’s so much complains on it, but i find it very addictive. I think i like Gu Long novels more because it has more layers, this one keeps alot of things veiled, but i have my suspicions about some characters. Wallace’s hair look very bad. If u have watched a previous version than it might not be as good because u already know the mysteries and schemes and this Pd is not very good. Some of his previous works makes me roll my eyes.

Chancy – I have already seen the TVB version of Bordertown Wanderer, and since Wallace’s version is somewhat of a mix of Bordertown Wanderer and Horizon, Moon, Saber, I sort of know the mystery already. I could be assuming that I know, though, since I haven’t really watched Wallace’s version yet. I do agree that Wallace’s hair looks awful in the series, but someone told me that he gets more handsome and his hair gets better as the series progresses. 🙂 The costumes, on the other hand, are pretty amazing.

Oh, I wish someone would adapt Heavy Sweetness, Ash-like Frost! Wouldn’t it be wonderful if Wallace could play the Fire Deity? I like him best in costume dramas, but I gotta admit that he looks really handsome in modern or Min Guo pieces, too.

Oh Mel, you’ve to dream abt it as Wallace will be involved in that Jin Yong’s remake for quite sometime, sob sob……

Hey, may I know which modern drama those Wallace’s clips come from? I’ve never seen any of his modern drama. Hehe, peanuts hiding her face in shame:P Is that Wallace as at certain angle it doesn’t look like him?

I wish they would stop remaking Jin Yong novels and just move on to other wuxia or xian xia novels. It’s not like there’s a shortage of novels….

Peanuts – The clips are from Midnight Sun. You should watch Wallace’s Yi Chu Ji Fa. It’s not exactly a modern drama but set during the 1930s in Shanghai, I think… Wallace plays identical twins and the drama is fast-paced and very interesting.

Yes, I share your sentiments but why why Wallace accepted this role? I find him or his manager isn’t good at choosing roles:( He has done a Jin Yong novel before so that is enough. He has done this kind of heroic character b4 so nothing new.

Thank you, Mel. Is Midnight Sun a watchable drama? Does Yi Chu Ji Fa has good ending & pretty & young girl for Wallace? Hey, I think we need a playpen to discuss abt Wallace’s dramas:P

Hey Joy, nobody has read this book yet so if it is not good, don’t throw egg at me:) Do come back & give us feedback on this book or other books you’ve read. We are just sick of modern book so I randomly chose an ancient book after seeing a MV with Wallace Chung:P

Peanuts – I didn’t really like Midnight Sun. Wallace’s character almost seemed as if he was leading three girls along and not really committing himself. He obviously preferred the leading female character, but there were two other girls that he sort of strung along without coming right out and telling them that his heart was already taken. I didn’t like that at all. He was certainly no Xu Feng who remained loyal to Jin Mi and waited 5000 years for her. With that said, he was handsome in that series. The female lead looked age appropriate for him but she was relatively plain-looking. As an interesting side note, Wallace used his own voice in that series, which I didn’t like, either, because he sounded so weird speaking Mandarin.

As for Yi Chu Ji Fa (Imminent Crisis), I found the government intrigue difficult to understand initially, but after the first few episodes, I sort of got the gist of the plot. (The explanations provided by xia0yuer and genna in the Yi Chu Ji Fa thread at spcnet also helped a lot.) Once I got the gist of the plot, the story was really captivating. Since Wallace played identical twins, he was practically in every scene, which was a huge bonus, since both brothers were so suave and handsome (including hairstyle and outfits). The female leads were young enough to play opposite Wallace, so thank goodness they didn’t look like his older sisters or his mama. I thought Yang Rui was pretty and cute (she was the main female lead out of all the brothers’ love interests), but the other actresses were only passable. You’ll also love both brothers, as they each have their lovable traits and are very consistent and faithful in love. There is a thread on Yi Chu Ji Fa under the Mainland China Series section at spcnet that you can check out, but it might contain spoilers, so only read that thread if you don’t mind spoilers.

Wow, Wallace as a casanova. That I must see, haha…This beats Wallace having no girl in some dramas:( Will run & buy the DVDs tomorrow, lol. How old is this drama as I am doubtful if it is still available for sale. Btw, good ending or not? If bad ending, I am not gonna watch. My mandarin is bad so I don’t think Wallace can do worse than me, hehe…Oh, I like him speaking Cantonese. When can I’ve a current Wallace’s drama in Cantonese?

I saw a thread on Imminent Crisis but just too lazy to read so many pages:P The bottomline is good ending or not? I cannot bear to see Wallace dying or being alone. I need to see him with a happy ending.

I think I watched the first ten episode of Midnight Sunlight and then walked away with disgust. I dislike men who lead others on…

Imminent Crisis doesn’t have a happy ending. It’s really quite depressing, but the director chose to leave the ending slightly open so there is some hope. I also really recommend it. It’s my favorite Wallace drama after TLTSILY.

Peanuts – Midnight Sun might have been from 2006? I’m not sure. The plot isn’t that great, and again, Wallace’s character wasn’t all that great. He was a decent enough guy, but stringing all those ladies along earned a “boo boo” from me. The ending was sad. If you want spoilers, I can give them to you.

Trust xia0yuer and me. Yi Chu Ji Fa is totally worth watching, even if the ending is less than lovely. It was more open-ended and angered me a bit, but the whole drama up until the very end made up for the ending.

Ok, ok trust you & xiaoyuer. I saw the clip where he won an award for this drama in spcnet. Btw, in that clip what Goddess did he say is his ideal woman? I don’t understand:( Midnight Sun got sad ending then i don’t want to watch so no need to tell me the ending. I got 4 requirements for Wallace’s drama. 1) The story must be good or at least entertaining. 2) The ending must not be sad so open ending is acceptable 3) He must pair up with a girl who is reasonably ok in term of look & acting. 4) Wallace must have a reasonable amt of screen time & he must look good all the time, lol.

I started on the book! It’s actually super addictive but the downside that it’s a very very long book, in fact just as long as any if Tong Hua’s books. I’ve been reading it since 2 days ago but I’m only 20% into the story!

The female lead Shui Bing Yi is quite a different character from other female leads, for starter she’s not super smart and she’s disfigured so it’s refreshing to read of such a female lead.
