Addicted To You 沉溺于你 by 郁满星 Yu Man Xing (HE)

At seventeen, Xu Wu was taken by her mother from Jiangcheng to live in Linjing. Her mother had remarried, and her new husband had a child—a boy one year older than her. Their first meeting never happened because of a missed trip. One day, after returning home from tutoring, Xu Wu found a man leaning against the doorframe in the living room, dressed in black, exuding an air of carefree rebellion as he talked on the phone. Once he finished his call and raised his eyes to look at her, Xu Wu quietly pinched her fingers together and called him “Brother.”

Later, she learned that he wasn’t her stepbrother but his friend—Zhou Jinye, a prodigy blessed by fate. Reckless and untamed, Zhou Jinye moved through relationships like a breeze through flowers, leaving no trace behind. When asked curiously if there was anyone who caught his eye among all those women, Zhou Jinye smirked and replied nonchalantly: “She hasn’t been born yet.”

But then came that spring.

The pale cement ground darkened under rain, droplets mingling with mist and clinging to their faces. Drenched to the bone, Zhou Jinye tightly gripped her wrist, his voice hoarse: “Have you thought this through?”

Years later, they meet again—not just as neighbors, but also as colleagues. Zhou Jinye is now the founder of LUNAR New Energy Automobiles, adored by many and pursued relentlessly within the industry. He becomes her client. His close friends can’t help but wonder why, out of so many advertising agencies available for collaboration, he chose Xu Wu’s company specifically. Could it be lingering feelings?

With a careless flick of his wine glass, Zhou Jinye looks down pensively before responding indifferently: “Do you think that’s possible?”

What others don’t know is what happens behind closed doors—in a certain apartment bathroom where steam fills the air. There, Zhou Jinye backs her into a corner, hot water cascading over their skin, mingling with every inch of exposed flesh until their kisses leave them breathless. Before releasing her, he bites her lower lip lightly, almost punishingly, his voice rough and low: “Promise me you’ll never push me away again. Promise you’ll only love me.”

Round and round they go, endlessly drawn back to each other. For Zhou Jinye, there has always been—and will only ever be—Xu Wu.
