I finished watching the available donghua in one go last night on YouTube. Oh, the little boy is so cute, especially his interactions with his dad. The ML & FL also look very handsome & pretty. Their interactions also rather funny, especially what the ML said, lol. My only complain is that they are blinking their eyes too much in the donghua. I highly recommend you to watch it. If you can't understand Chinese, then you can read the English translated manhua then watch it. I think you should be able to guess what is going on.
Nowadays, my first preference is donghua, manhua, audiobook then lastly the novel. Donghua is nice with moving pictures compared to manhua where I've to click all the time. I can't stand the slow moving speed of manhua in Youtube. Both donghua and manhua are more fast moving & summarise compared to audiobook and novel, suitable for impatient people like me who has limited time.
Btw, I also noticed that there are a few manhua translations of the same novel with different Eng names, quite hard to know which is which.
I find the little boy very cute too and for his age, he has such a high IQ. I agree with peanut's preference on donghua, don't need to click too much and the moving pictures make the story more appealing too. I finished the first season in one go on youtube and now waiting for more. I think the manhua translations are way ahead than donghua.

Also, I wanna recommend you to watch 重生之慕甄 (Phoenix Nirvana) also by Ake Culture.The plot is pretty engrossing but the drawings a bit simple. Also, the emperor has too little screen time and is not really handsome looking in some angles so I don't really like him lol. But I do like the queen very much and hope that she will have a happy ending outside of the palace.I won't be posting this in SSB bcos the donghua/ webtoon is not based on a novel.
