Chasing Jade / Jade and the Butcher’s Blade (Pursuit of Jade) 逐玉 by 团子来袭 Tuan Zi Lai Xi (HE)

Her parents had passed away, her childhood sweetheart broke off the engagement, and her relatives wanted to take over the family. For the sake of her five-year-old sister, Fan Chang Yu decided to recruit a groom.

She set her sights on the man she had saved and brought back home. He was covered in bruises like a fish is covered with scales, with nothing on him, and only his face could be seen. The two quickly made a deal: she would give him lodging to recuperate, and he would help her keep her family property by pretending to be her groom.

After the family business was stabilized, Fan Chang Yu was about to write a divorce letter as promised. Unexpectedly, the imperial court conscripted men for war and being regarded as able to fight, the young man was taken away, and there had been no news of him ever since.

When she saw the man again, he was lying in the wounded soldier’s tent covered in blood. His face stained with blood was as handsome as ever, but his soldier’s uniform was chopped to pieces. Seeing how difficult his life was in the army, Fan Chang Yu’s eyes turned red: “Don’t stay in the army any longer. Go back and I will raise pigs to feed you.”

The man’s eyes were empty and he coughed up a mouthful of blood: “Don’t you want to divorce with me…”

Fan Chang Yu burst into tears: “No divorce, no divorce!”

[Small Theater]

Xie Zheng, the Marquis of Wu’an, had gained fame at a young age  due to his military exploits. At his coming-of-age, he was awarded the title of Marquis for his military merits. There was no one like him in the entire Great Yin dynasty. His military discipline was even more famous for his iron-blooded cruelty.

Recently, the officers and soldiers of the army felt that their Marquis was a bit strange. He no longer stayed in his own tent but would rather squeeze himself in the small and worn out tent for the wounded soldiers.
With a bloody injury in his body, he would usually be able to get out of bed after two to three days, but this time he didn’t get better even after ten days to half a month.

The dog head (an insult) military advisor who came back after visiting sighed twice: “With someone rubbing his body and spoon feeding him medicine when he’s lying down, of course he’s gonna take his time to recover!”

Until the marquis’ wife that they had never met before became so afraid that her sickly groom would die on the battlefield, so she secretly put on a worn out soldier’s uniform and went off to fight on his behalf. The “seriously injured” marquis, who had been bedridden for many days, was so shocked that he jumped up on the spot, quickly put on his armor and led his troops to chase after her.

The sunset is like blood, and the geese are weeping in the sky. Fan Chang Yu, who was chopping off the enemy general’s head with a butcher knife, looked at the friendly troops coming from a distance across the yellow sand, and blinked.

She pulled the soldier aside and asked, “How come your general, who is wearing a qilin-shouldered light armor and riding a grand horse at the front, looks a bit like my husband?”

Soldier : …Could it be really him?
