Deep Eyes 深情眼 by 耳东兔子 Er Dong Tu Zi (HE)

Upon ceasing to be a Beijing drifter[1], Ye Meng returned to her hometown and entered into a flash marriage. To everybody’s surprise, Ye Meng returned to Beijing on her wedding night.

On the very same night, the groom posted ten status updates on his WeChat Moments, each showcasing the bachelor party he was hosting in his house.

Sincerely believing in the proverb “Out of sight, out of mind“, Ye Meng blacklisted the groom on her mobile phone, and left him to his devices.

In order to force Ye Meng to return to her hometown, the groom used every single trick, ploy and ruse he could think of – divorce papers, terminal diagnosis etc.

Ye Meng, however, remained unmoved throughout the entire ruckus, and continued flourishing in Beijing.

Friend 1’s WeChat Moment: Ah, what a hard-hearted woman.

Friend 2’s WeChat Moment: Has our friend finally caved and gone to Beijing?

When a sincere, loyal genius youth, content with living an anonymous life in a small town, met a courageous black swan unafraid to spread her wings in the bustling city — your image is reflected within my eyes; you are my one and only light.

[1] Beijing drifter – a term used to describe a person without Beijing registered residence who has migrated to Beijing from other places in China seeking opportunities and a better life
