It's not the first time I've picked up a 春刀寒 novel, having previously read Transmigrating To Become The Boss’s Little Fairy 穿成大佬的小仙女. Like Transmigrating To Become The Boss's Little Fairy, The Entertainment Industry Is Mine details, at its core, a sweet and humorous love story - only, this time, the romance is between a super-fan (our female lead) and her idol (our male lead), both of whom had been reborn after having passed away in their previous lives. It is also a story of redemption and "healing", with the female lead having been 'saved' by the male lead in her previous life (as she was on the brink of taking her own life when she was distracted by a beautiful advert featuring the male lead, and, having been so distracted, subsequently loses her courage to take her own life), whilst our male lead (having become extremely disillusioned with the entertainment industry and the world in general) is "saved" by the female lead in their current life, as the female lead's consistent efforts to shower our male lead with warmth and love (for one's idol) gradually leads to the male lead learning to harbor some hope for the world (and desire to continue remaining in the world).
However, unlike Transmigrating To Become The Boss’s Little Fairy, this novel is highly, highly unrealistic, with the female lead having all sorts of resources (be it wealth, or connections), and the male lead being an all-star talent who can do no wrong; now, although all C-novels are generally unrealistic, I do like to have my leads grounded in slightly more reality, and not simply possessing the ability to overcome over all obstacles with little to no effort, and having little to no flaws. All in all, this novel would fall within the category of "feel-good" novels (爽文) where readers do not expect any obstacles or difficulties (which cannot be overcome) to be thrown into our leads' paths, and is not precisely my cup of tea - which really explains the 3-star rating. If you are, however, looking for a feel-good novel with little to no angst, then this novel would be perfect for you.
