It is a story about two half-brothers pursuing the same dream in the field of music in different ways. Their situation is complicated when they fall in love with the same woman.
Feng Anning and Lin Anjing are half brothers with the same father. They have both inherited their father’s musical skills. Feng Anning’s mother arranged for him to study the Western flute while Lin Anjing has been learning to play the Chinese pipa from their father since he was young. During an important recital, Feng Anning who was the student leader cancelled Lin Anning’s solo performance. Lin Anjing opens up to Wei Lan about his feelings for her only to be rejected. He learns that she is in love with Feng Anning and it causes more cracks in the relationship between the two siblings.
To create more opportunities for her son, Lin Anjing’s mother repeatedly uses his father’s name to make connections and get ahead. Demoralized by the many setbacks in his life, Lin Anjing resigns himself to despair. Wei Lan and Feng Anning are determined to help him regain his confidence. Together, the brothers create a beautiful melody that brings out each of their uniqueness.
