Ahem, Peanuts has gently reminded me that I have neglected to post this here in SSB.
My introductory words for the novel are found here, although my opinions have actually changed a little since re-reading and translating. Still, it is my recollection of my first impression.
I read the raws and you were right, hoju! Though my heart ACHED in the beginning, the ending was worth it! Now, I guess I'l have to go through the whole rigmarole yet again when I read your translations from scratch. However, I'm still petitioning you to translate the happy chappies first *puppy eyes*
Jian Bianlin is so damn perseverent and steadfast in his love for her. At the same time, I couldn't help but take sides with Chu Jian too. I mean it's kinda hard for her when he makes it clear that he intends to like her even though she doesn't like. There's the guilt and the sadness because of the fact that they're practically family and have no choice but to run into each other regularly. But then, I guess they were destined to be together anyway!
