To welcome Xinn back, here is a book which is suitable for her, lol. I read this more than a month ago so I forgot half of the story:P The story is nothing special, just your typical funny novel. It is written in note/diary form with the weather report of that day to set the mood for that chapter. In this novel, the male lead is even more childish & irrational than the female lead, haha....
Anyway it is a funny & hilarious book which shall put you in good mood. The boss behaves so childishly, he just cracks me up. He made the female lead installed msn messenger so he can chat with her during working hrs to help him arrange match-making dates. She tried to sabotage some of his blind dates. Sometimes she wins & sometime the boss wins. Haha, they are quite a funny pair, trying to outdo each other.
The actual book is only about 35 chapters long...according to the author 36-54 are all epilogue. To the many fans out there for office romance, I find that this is a much better book compare to the popular "Shan Shan, come eat" or "don't run my black belly boss". Yifan is 35 but is a complete man-child outside work. His "best friend" is a fatso who sells inflatable dolls and give weird love advises. Xiao Bei is 23, live with her money-making phycologist cousin who gave half bake advises. The OTP many revenges against each other are hilarious- half naked run in the park, hot dog dance, buying giant cactus for the office etc. My most memorable scene was when she literally jump into a lake during winter just to distract her coworkers from noticing the boss going to pray for marriage luck in the temple....talk about work dedication. This book has me really laughing out loud while making my heart filled with warmth. He seem to be narcissistic but there were many incidents to imply that he is not what he seems to be. She is practical and take her "match making job" very seriously while never realising that her care and concern have already step beyond that of a normal working relationship. There wasn't much steamy scene but this love story is well paced and I grew to love this pairing very much. Good read!
