Has anyone read this book yet? or currently reading? It’s the sequel to 3L3W10PB.
I think the main characters of this stories were side characters in the original 3L3W10MPB. Remember, Bai Qian had a niece who was madly in love with a man named Dong Hua who didn’t care for her? The niece with the flower in the middle of her forehead, called Feng Jiu? Dong Hua and Feng Jiu are the main characters of 三生三世枕上书. They played somewhat of a larger role when Bai Qian went to the human world to change the events of history, the time she had to prevent her the little prince from falling in love with the same man as his father the king, she figured out that the king was actually Dong Hua, who had also come to the human world on a “training mission” of a sort to figure out the meaning of love. Bai Qian then realized that Feng Jiu followed him into that world to repay him for saving her life for the last time. Except, in that human life, because of the way Bai Qian changed history, Dong Hua actually fell in love with Feng Jiu even though he never did in their world. But I think the original book hinted that when Feng Jiu and Dong Hua return to their normal selves, Dong Hua won’t remember what happened in that human life because he requested to be sent as sort of a training mission. But Feng Jiu will remember, because she decided to drop in to help. I think maybe 枕上书 will be about that too.
ooooh, I think I totally missed that part. Honestly I only breezed through 3L3W10PB. So maybe that husband that people were saying Feng Jiu had in the beginning of the book was Dong Hua in the human world. Strangely, Feng Jiu didn’t appear to recognize Dong Hua when they met at Bai Qian and Yeh Hua’s wedding in this book.

So there’s a sequel from 3L3W10PB??? As Atsu chan mention before i remember about this Dong Hua but i’m not sure he’s the same person. Maybe i need to take a peek to this novel.
I finally started this novel. I think it is when Dong Hua has come back to Jiu Chong Tian and he only remembers Feng Jiu as the Feng Jiu of Qing Chiu, but don’t remember her as his wife from their time together on earth. Since that was Dong Hua’s training mission, so he had to forget his stay on earth while Feng Jiu remembered, so she only considers the Dong Hua on earth to be her husband, so since he died, she wanted to stay a widow and not remarry.
The main guy has silver hair? I can’t get over that. I like his voice. haha

I have feeling hamster skipped. I might have skipped too because i don’t remember either if them. Now kinda want to go back to read those chapters, but i don’t think it matters much.
Haha. I like his voice here. He caught a cold so a little behind on recordings. I think they are almost done though and i read slow.
U know that other modern novel atsu recommended? I found another voice drama, the guy doing the main guy’s voice is petboy and his voice is….wah. I fell inlove with his Yehua voice.

I think I’ve found my most favorite tang qi novel. I dont think reading the first book is any big miss for this book. You just know more, but they retell enough that you won’t get lost. It doesn’t get repetitive on things we already know either. Starts at the wedding of Bai Qian. I’m addicted from the beginning already. Its very cute and funny.

Haha, I gave in & listened to 2 chapters:( However inspite of having C gege reading, i can’t get into the book:( Probably because I was multi-tasking so didn’t concentrate & my poor command of Mandarin, I felt lost & bored:( I will give it another try when all the chapters are up.
You do have to concentrate, especially on the first few chapters. After chapter 10, things get better. It’s pretty cute right now, especially on how she turned into a regular red fox just to be able to stay by his side even as a pet. Wait until it’s all up though.

I’m in pretty far now, perhaps pass the middle and none of what you’ve mentioned from the previous book has been mentioned, except the part where Feng Jiu fell in love with Dong Hua because he saved her. There is nothing about him having ever gone to human world for some training mission. Apparently, his position is as high as even Tian Jun (Yehua’s grandfather). I wonder if there is stuff that even Feng Jiu does not remember? Most of the times she’s remember watching Dong Hua from afar and her 200 years being his pet.
I really like Feng Jiu, she might just be my most favorite female character in all novels combined. She’s just too cute!
I started with just 1-2 chapters a day to 5 chapters a day and now today I might have passed 10 chapters. I’m likely to run out of chapters before weekend ends. I’ll be forced to go back to 1-2 chapters a day.
I’m back!! I’ve missed coming here so much! It feels so good to be able to come back and I’m catching up on all the action I missed for the past two weeks.
And haha, oops! I thought there might be some of the same story since I recognized the names from the first book, but I’m glad it’s different 🙂

I love Dong Hua’s cold sense of humor. His dialogues with Feng Jiu is the cutest!! My favorite quote so far is~

Lol, I did skip the majority of Dong Hua & Feng Jiu’s part, but they were mentioned a few times, I swear! Dong Hua was the guy who reincarnated as Yuanzheng’s father on Earth… the guy who reincarnated not because he was punished but because he wanted to on his own. The one who made Feng Jiu drink all of Zheyan’s wine in lovelorn.
Oh Pillow Book, I can never get full with you. You always leave me hungry for the next chapter. Evil reader 拈水笑 always leaves her readers hanging on a terrible cliff. Like one of those where something important is happening, than she puts dramatic drumming suspense instrumentals, and than….. 小编C’s voice comes up and says, “end of the chapter.” I want to bang my head. I don’t think I’ve ever been soo caught in a Tang Qi book as this one. It’s a must read! Feng Jiu and Dong Hua are both sooo smart, yet soooo cutely stupid.
And finding out about another story in the 3W3L series. It seems like that one is not completed yet and is about Lian Song, Yehua’s 3rd uncle. The guy that Dong Hua was playing long distance chess with in this novel. I think I like the side couples from 3W3L10PB more than the OTP. So strange……
I am listening now but very slowly. Each chapter, I am listening twice, haha..I know I said I’ll wait for Lian Song’s story b4 I start this but I can’t resist the temptation:( It is all Chancy’s fault:P Anyway the 3rd book should be out latest next yr.

I’m surprised they do the audiobook pretty fast, this book was released on 6-1-2012, and they already started the audiobook on 7-17-12, it’s pretty fast considering you need to find people interested to do the audiobook with you and you need to do recording and teaser clips and all. I just REALLY wished they could have waited until the 2nd book was completed.
There’s also some readers who do on ongoing online novels. I don’t really like ongoing online novels because they are crazy long and even the reader doesn’t know if the entire story is worth reading or if the writer would stop in the middle. With published books, at least the reader has read the whole thing and know if it’s worth doing an audiobook on.

I think it’s inappropriate to ask on there whether they get paid or not. I get what you mean too. If they are just volunteering and this site get’s paid while the readers and the other sites that share the files don’t get paid, I feel like I’m paying for no reasons too, or no real purpose. Kind of like CDs, if the singers don’t get paid and only the record companies I don’t really get why I’d pay either.

You follow TQ on weibo so u’ll know the plot development faster. Btw Dong hua interesting? I reread his part in Book 1 & find him so bland. Whereas I feel Lian Song is more my cup of tea. I like a playboy who gives lousy love advice, heehee….Moremore he & shengyu are very close to my little ‘dumpling’:P
I just really like Feng Jiu. Dong Hua is pretty unromantic. He likes to mess with people’s mind. Pretty aloof person, but i love their interactions. I just find it very funny with the generation and millions of year ages. Dumping calls him gege because he looks young, but his father tells him that even he calls him uncle, so later he starts calling him grandpa.
TQ’s English name is Vivien? Oh, part 2 will be out next yr but there is 12 mths in a yr, which mth:(? Why she wanna edit book 1? Those authors love to fiddle with their books. I listened to abt 10 chapters of Pillow Book bcos it is more light hearted. I am not addicted to it at all. I don’t find it interesting except some dry humour now & then. Feng Jiu is likeable but I feel she is so weak, always kind of got tortured by Dong Hua. As for Dong Hua, he is a man of few words so I am not impressed with him. I only look fwd to my little dough, so childish & cute, lol.
Btw, C gege & the girl who read this book will be having a new book out soon. I think it is called 宝珠鬼话. But it is not a romance book but a highly rated fantasy/ghost story. I am not sure if this genre is my cup of tea but will probably give it a try just to support C gege, lol.
After reading that they have new book together, I quickly go to cxt8 to check out the trailer. It’s…..creepy. lol I just need to know if it’s modern or ancient. Also, it seems creepy in the trailer, but she seems to like humorous stories, so I’m confident it’s gonna be an interesting story. Have you tried their time traveler? I did chap 1-2 and it’s so hilarious the part about Duan Wang Ye called Duan Yu and than she puts the Felix Wong DGSD theme song in the bg and says, Duan Yu? There’s really a Duan Wang Ye called Duan Yu? so funny. I dunno, her fetish for meat kinda makes the character very strange. I’ll read a little bit more and if it’s good I’ll let u know.
I think the creepy book is a modern one. It is abt the supernatural so probably funny. She owns a pastry shop then accidentally adopted a fox the come into contact with evil spirit, reincarnation etc.
I checked out the time traveler already. It is a funny book but bad ending. I won’t spoil you but I feel the ending is sad. Maybe you’ll think otherwise. Bcos of the ending, I didn’t post the book:(
sherry! I’m not saying I’ll love Jing Xuan (I probably won’t) but Feng Jiu is so adorable, Dong Hua is just so brutal the way he treats her. Dong Hua is probably the most interesting TQGZ male lead (but I like QIn Mo and Lin Qiao better, heh!) but he’s too cold-hearted.
LOL, I love Fengjiu to death too. But I don’t think Donghua is cold at all…he’s just so bored, yet he’s not boring. I actually thought he was more nice to Fengjiu that she deserved sometimes…like when she scratched and bit Princess Jiheng, he didn’t even yell at her. I think it’s absolutely necessary for Donghua to take a few thousand years to fall in love, since he’s as old as time itself and even Fengjiu needs to put in a little extra effort. :p

So I finally finished the Pillow Book yesterday and then I went back to listen to the Feng Jiu/Dong Hua moments in 3L3WTMPB and now the whole story makes sense. So if anyone wants to know the full trajectory of Feng Jiu/Dong Hua, I’ll summarize it below with the story that’s left out in Pillow Book. You have to read TMPB first for some of the Pillow Book to make sense.
So basically Feng Jiu falls in love with Dong Hua when he saved her and she falls in love with him and wants to repay him. According to Bai Qian, she follows him around quite a bit before begging Si Ming to get her a job at his palace. Then it is mentioned in the Pillow Book that she was quite bullied by Zhi He when she was a palace maid. Then, came the whole Dong Hua and Ji Heng incident and they were trapped into a mural of sorts and Feng Jiu sold her skin and voice in exchange for power to save him and she becomes his pet. But then, when she realized that Ji Heng and Dong Hua were falling in love, she wanted to leave and when Dong Hua finally locked her up for misbehavior, she begins to lose hope. Then Ji Heng had a tiger that almost killed her but Feng Jiu was saved by Si Ming who sent her home.
But what wasn’t mentioned in the Pillow Book is now mentioned in TMPB – according to Bai Qian, Feng Jiu was supremely upset over losing Dong Hua. When Dong Hua went into the human universe secretly, Feng Jiu (with Si Ming’s help) looked into his mortal life book to grant him a wish. And hilariously, human Dong Hua’s wish was for a woman to truly love him. And according to the life book, he would fall in love with a woman who loved his mortal son (this was the subject of Bai Qian’s mission) and so when one of his concubines died, Feng Jiu took over her body in hopes of giving mortal Dong Hua a true love. And in a hilarious scene in TMPB, Bai Qian and Feng Jiu were able to twist Fate around and mortal Dong Hua falls madly in love with mortal Feng Jiu. Thus, when she returned from the mortal universe after their mortal lifetimes were up, she insisted upon remaining a widow, since she wanted to remain loyal to mortal Dong Hua.
Thus when her father wanted her to marry Cang Yi (this is back in the Pillow Book) she caused a huge ruckus. This event now brings us back to the present, when Dong Hua and Feng Jiu meet again in the heavens. But since Dong Hua was on a mission, he doesn’t know that mortal Dong Hua was in love with mortal Feng Jiu and he also doesn’t know Feng Jiu was his beloved fox pet. And then, everyone knows the story from here.
So, my question is, Feng Jiu wanted the Ping Po Guo to resurrect a human, so that human is her mortal husband? I’m still trying to figure that out………..

I don’t know how legit it is, but it certainly is fun. And there are a lot of short epilogues based on cartoons and they are HILARIOUS. And for fans of Tang Qi, her other characters from other books make appearances too!

The author has released the first part of the book only. The 2nd part of the book will only be released in June. However a few chapters of the 2nd part are available online.

FJ is annoyed with DH for coming so late to rescue her. To appease her, he’ll turn into a hanky for her to play, lol. They got closer while living there together & there is even a bed scene but it is not what you think, lol. There is more interactions b/w them and DH is treating FJ better, rather nice to her.
FJ has also become best buddy with Xiao Yan due to them being neighbour for half a yr. DH is jealous of their r/s especially when FJ is willing to make fresh cake for XY bcos he is a picky eater. The squabble over FJ’s cake b/w DH, XY, Lian Song & little dough is very funny. DH even threw his shoe at XY but pretended it slipped out of his hand lol.
FJ wanted to win a competition bcos the 1st prize is a special fruit which she is very keen on. So DH gave her lessons & eventually she won. But DH thought she wanted the fruit to make cake for XY so he got LS to switch the prize to peaches. Little dough is so cute asking for bigger share of the peaches for his parents when FJ didn’t want them:)
FJ is dejected bcos she thought DH switched the fruit bcos Ji Heng wanted the special fruit. She decided to go and steal the fruit. But she fell into ‘Allan’ dream, a dream which you can’t wake up. XY told DH & he immediately jumped into the dream trying to rescue her. Book 1 ended with both of them trapped in the dream, FJ unconscious & DH lost his power. DH found out fr LS that FJ is his missing beloved red fox.

Read the translated specials on your blog too peanuts ! DH’s humor is certainly … Unique :p Am still wondering why he fell for FQ. From the specials, it seems that he likes her naive personality and furry outer appearance.
I wish the author would make DH suffer more in part two so we can know the depth of his love for FQ!! But it was absolutely hilarious to watch FQ and xiao yan misread the DH and LiHeng situation.

TQ officially posted on her weibo that the draft should be finished by this Thur as a birthday present to her editor. It is also mid-autumn festival. Thus, the book publication should not be faraway.
The bad news is many ppl think this book will have BE (bad ending) due to what TQ posted abt she is tired & doesn’t want him anymore.

Been a loooong time! But I came back to reread this cus I fell in love with the fengjiu donghua cp after watching the three mile peach blossom drama. Dila reba did such a good job acting fengjiu. I pray they turn pillowbookk into a drama with her as main!!!!

So far I am up to chapter 3 and it is not as good as the 1st one…
When I finished the books, I cried so much, I got a nosebleed. I think it’s safe to say I’m wayyyy too attached to this couple.
I just finished both the 2 pillow books and I loved them. I was so upset when I was at the very end of the 2nd book and thinking that the worst was going to happen and it was going to be another tragic Chinese drama XianXia ending with no happy ever after. I loved her writing, the translation to English was great (even the annotations to explain Chinese idioms, or poetry) especially the fact that there was contemporary English in there that young people in specific used. I can’t wait for more translations, because seriously, I can’t learn Chinese fast enough and it’s slow going.
Why did the handkerchief Donghua “turned into” (but was actually tricking Fengjiu) have a “Ji” on it? It made Fengjiu think it was a treasured hanky from Jiheng, but was that a misunderstanding?
While inside Aranya’s Dream, Donghua made another version of the Miaohua Glass that could view the past and present lives of mortals – he used this to find out about Aranya and Chenye’s past. Towards the end of the story, why didn’t Donghua use this Miaohua Glass to search for Fengjiu when she ran away? Why did he need to search for her for 200 years?
^I meant – the new Miaohua Glass he made could view the past and present lives of IMMORTALS. He gave the mortal-viewing glass to the Demon Clan.
done reading this one. Can’t wait for the drama series. I cried a lot while reading the part where Dong Hua didn’t showed up at the wedding and she later found out she’s pregnant. The ending part too…. T______T but love love love to read it over and over again.
