Using threads to embroider, one can weave the years;
Using the heart to embroider, one can weave a kingdom.
How can a palace trap a phoenix?
My fate is determined by me and not the heavens!
In this large world, the four kingdoms, Yan, Bi, Yi, Cheng, divide the world.
Bi Kingdom’s Right Minister’s daughter, Chen Yu,* with a dignified appearance and a virtuous demeanor, admires Ji Ying, the son of one of the Four Great families, Ji. When the two families were planning to have a marriage, it was ruined by the monarch, Zhao Yin. From one imperial edict, she was forced into the palace.
Because of her family, Jiang Chen Yu is helpless, and followed orders into the palace.
But she is not willing to be the Emperor’s consort, and die of old age in this palace. Thus she offers her service like Mao Sui, and requests to be Zhao Yin’s tactician.
Zhao Yin admires her boldness and knowledge, and sends her as an ambassador to Cheng Kingdom, using the excuse of giving birthday wishes to the Cheng King, in actuality, to secretly steal classified secrets. Who would’ve guessed that the history of the Four Kingdoms would be changed from this careless decision?
The gears of fate have started to move, from the innocent, pure and sentimental maiden to the Empress, mother of the world; from the human and weak girl to all power female ruler.
*This is based off of the description of Xi Shi, “chen yu luo an,” as in fishes forget to swim because they are mesmerized by her beauty.

This sounds epic. If she becomes female ruler does that mean the guy she likes died?
This does sound really interesting. Is this the same book? http://www.jjwxc.net/onebook.php?novelid=426880
Yes, although, I don’t know why there are two different authors listed on different sites.
eeks this sound like a killer!! I love any stories revolving around women that use their brains even though they have beauty. Especially after 孤芳不自赏, it’s really makes the story more exciting when the female protagonist is a plotty one. Of course, plotty guys are equally exciting hehe
there’s no audiobook for this right? *cries*
You and me both, raini! It sounds brilliant and so much crackling fun but no audiobook…..
Reading the intro again it sounds like a Wu zhe tian like story.
