untitled

This is a doomed love story of the last prince of the Qing dynasty called Ai Xin Jue Luo Xian Chang with Wang Ming Yue set in a turbulent time.

A prince who was born in the tumultuous years,

A prince who pointed his gun at someone’s nose to snatch his bride,

A prince who eye witnessed a graceful empress going crazy,

A prince who has to lead a befuddled life to accept the demise of his family’s empire,

A prince who did not leave behind a descendant at the end of his life ……

Once in a lifetime only love, once missed, will be forever.

The most unbearable thing on earth is not to lose the person you love most, but knowing that you will lose her, yet you also have to push her away with your own hands……

He is the Qing dynasty last little prince, eventhough the dynasty is as good as gone, he is still suave romantic, casual, wanton and unrestrained, playing fast and loose.

She is his concubine without a status, his soul, his dream, but also his hate, his unwilling.

Although they love each other deeply, yet cannot overcome the chaotic and changing world, one misplaced kindness, part forever ……

Thanks, Peanuts, for the summary! I look forward to reading your review! ^^

Sounds like an interesting book, except this is really not one of my favorite time periods in Chinese history. I also don’t like that YZ is grouping this together with Legend of Lu Zhen as part of a trilogy. I get why the ‘legend’ part works for LZ since she’s based on a historical person, but there doesn’t seem to be anything ‘legendary’ about Ming Yue here…

Has anyone read this yet? I might read/listen to it now…..

Peanuts – I have fallen into the trap of listening to books using a text-to-speech app. Now its really so many books, so little time.
