What? You are a Great God (Da Shen)?
What a coincidence, I’m also a Great God ! !
When a male God encounters a female God, any Tom, Dick and Harry also can be God.
Lu Shui Han: You think you are a Great God, so amazing? I am also a Great God ! !
Ye Xin Mo: Go kill monster in online game (Da guai).
(Ok, Great God going to kill monster.)
Lu Shui Han: You think you have many fans (vermicelli), so amazing? I also have ! !
Ye Xin Mo: Go to cook.
(Ok, Great God going to cook.)
Lu Shui Han: What do you want to eat?
Ye Xin Mo: cabbage and pork stew vermicelli (fans). [You need to pronounce it in Mandarin to understand this cold joke:P]
The male lead is a Game God and the female lead is a Novel God. Lu Shui Han is a playboy (flower heart) but fell in love with Ye Xin Mo at first sight. She is cool and cold figuratively and literally because of her family background . He shamelessly and persistently try to melt her icy heart. A great love story on & off-line.
[Ebook] [Radiodrama till 1] [Khi đại thần gặp đại thần]
This is an online game novel like Wei Wei but it has not been published. I’ve to post this book bcos I like the male lead a lot. He is so so shameless (耍赖) & thick skin that is so endearing & crack me up. Lidge. has this been translated into Viet? Have you read it? You must read it bcos you’ll like this guy as he is rather persistent & obssessive:)
I am half way thru the book. I find the interactions between the leads more interesting than Wei Wei but maybe not as dream like or romantic. There are a lot of cold jokes, haha….The online game part might bore you if you are not into playing online game. I don’t play online game yet I find it tolerable. The female lead is playing the game because the game is based on a book she wrote whereas the male lead is playing bcos he likes her book but he doesn’t know she wrote the book. When he found out she is the famous author, he feels inferior, haha….So far, I like this book more than Wei Wei.
Arrrrrgh, I like Lu Shui Han very very much. His online game name is ‘donkey looking for a wife’, wahaha….He asked her online game wife the female lead to pretend to be his girlfriend for a day to meet his mum. The girl got along well with his mum & likes her a lot. So, he’ll always threathen the girl with ‘I’ll tell my mum’ to make her comply to his wishes, lol. He pretended to be injured & also shamelessly moved into the girl’s place to cook & warm her bed in order to court her, haha…..Oh, he is so sweet, childish & cute:) The girl thinks he is a ‘flower heart carrot’:P
I can only find an incomplete average radio drama on this book:( Hopefully someone will do a radio drama on this as it’ll be great.
hahaha, peanuts, I like the main guys shameless, persistent, obsessive, and willing to use underhanded means to get the girl. I have read this, but it was some time ago. I can’t really remember it. I went back to skim through the first few chapters, which did make me remember that the main girl is a famous mysterious writer who the main guy’s been after. I think later on in the story, there’s a funny part where the main girl storms into the main guy’s office because of some reason. That’s all I remember XD.
Aiyo, lidge there is really no modern book you’ve not read b4:( Btw I though you don’t really like game book. You read the book I mentioned in my previous post? Heehee, but I gonna read Xin Yi Wu’s new book faster than you:P
Don’t you think this guy is so much more adorable & realistic than Xiao Nai in Gu Man’s Wei Wei? He is a better developed character. I didn’t read Wei Wei but listened to the radio drama so that is why I am not that attached to Xiao Nai compared to Shui Han. You should reread this book after your final. This author has a way with words that all their dialogues are funny, lol. I wonder if any of the cold jokes got lost in translations.
I remember a rather funny part is the male lead asked the female lead why you don’t wanna have relationship with me. She replied bcos you are short. He asked where am I short? She replied everywhere. He said how you know since you didn’t see it. Haha, you get the double meaning:P I think he never calls her name, just call her woman, haha…What I like abt him is he is not perverted or forceful, just plain shameless & thick skin, my kind of guy, heehee…..
I read game stories now and then. I’ve never played online games so it’s hard for me to understand the technical terms/events sometimes. I don’t remember the main girl meeting his mother or him moving in with her. Sounds funny. I’ll reread this when I’m done with this semester, peanuts^^
What book did you mean, peanuts? Bao Zhu’s Ghost Talk? No, I haven’t. Seems like there’s not a big audience for supernatural stories so not many of those are translated.
If you can read XYW’s new book, pls! pls! spoil me the story. I want to knoooowwwwwww~~~~~ SO BAD!!!! This is like tempting an addict with drugs, lol. You are my drug dealer, peanuts.
I like! If i have spare time after playing game today I’ll read this. What captivated me inside Gu Man’s story is the game rather than the characters. That story was slightly too good to be true. Too perfect. Want to read this to compare.
Peanuts not a very smart dealer. Smart ones don’t get addicted to what they dealing.
Reminds me of a research I once read that says most drug dealers aren’t rich when they make a lot of money. Why? Because they eventually get addicted so they end up spending the money they earn on drugs, lol.
haha peanuts your on too many drugs at once too xP
It’s bad for your health!!
I kind of lost interest on Wei Wei after they met in real life. I think the game was 10x more interesting to read. If you girls say this is better than Wei Wei, esp the offline storyline, I’ll definitely try this hehe
The book I mean is 一夜成名 by 红枣. Needless to ask, you’ll tell me you’ve read it, lol. So, how is it? The female worked as a paparazzi (doggy reporter) who stalked artists. Later, she changed job & become an artist. The male lead is a rich film investor & she is trying to curry favour with him to get a leading role. But he is not fond of her bcos she used to stalk him. The story sound interesting & the book is rated quite well but don’t know why after 2 chapters, I am not into the book yet.
Btw have you read Floating Dreams. If not, you must read it. Such a good book. Oh, I love the audio book, made me laughed & cried so much. As for SYW’s new book, I’ll read it at the end of Nov or beginning of Dec if it is released bcos I’ll be on holidays in Taiwan & Korea in 2 weeks time. Thus, you won’t have your drug supply for a mth so don’t miss me too much, haha….
Wah, when have I become a drug kingpin, lol? What a coincidence? I was having lunch with my friend yesterday & she commented I look like a drug addict with my watery eyes & running nose (I’ve a cold bcos of the sudden change in cold weather) & tired face & continous yawning (lack of sleep due to reading this book):(. So I told her I am only a book addict. Then she asked is there an difference, lol?
Chancy & Raini, give this a try as the game is also rather interesting. I think the male lead’s online a/c got hacked & the hacker stole game accessories or money from his sect’s members so they accused his online wife who is the female lead as husband & wife share their passwords. The male lead trust her that she didn’t do it so he compensated the members & left the sect for her. Bcos of this the girl feel indebted to him & agreed to meet him & pretend to be his gf in front of his mum for a day. Later, they quarrelled & he accidentally pressed ‘divorce’ in the game so he panic, haha….He cares a lot of the girl, always worry if she is eating or sleeping well, such a sweet guy.
Another interesting bit is the girl helped a lower rank sect to defeat a higher rank sect in online warfare by supplying them with DRUG, wahahaha……The girl did this out of revenge for her online hubby who left the higher rank sect. The girl has no friend online except the guy. She is a loner & she doesn’t really like this guy very much yet is attached to him. She is a cool & calculative character, not perfect like Wei Wei. See, the story is more interesting than Wei Wei, right? Trust peanuts bcos she has got good taste in man in the novels, lol.
Btw, I wanted to listen to 2 audio online game novels on cxt8. But I found out one book has the girl end up not with the guy most ppl shipped:( Another book has no ending or bad ending. Aiya, why they don’t read this book with good ending:(
I don’t play online games so Raini, Chancy, skyblu, xiaoyuer or anyone pls explain some game terminology to me. What do BOSS, JQ, LG, NPC mean or stand for? Anywhere I can get more info? Btw 打怪 means play online game, right?
The plot doesn’t ring a bell. Also Googled but nothing came up. It’s not often that the main girl of a romance novel works as a paparazzi so if I’ve read this, I think I would’ve remember it.
I want to read this because it sounds interesting, but I searched and found nothing…huhu
What are the titles of the 2 online game novels you found?
Yeh, there is a book lidge hasn’t read b4, heehee…So I’ll continue with the paparazzi book later & will post it if it gets any better. Floating Dreams has another name. I think skyblu posted the name in that book comments. This book is so much better than 3L3W10P. Hey, go & learn mandarin so you can enjoy the audio books with us as they sound awesound in there:) You can easily learn mandarin by watching dramas with english or viet subtitles. Btw are you the lidge who supported Ruco in Jaynestar’s sexiest man poll?
与大神JQ的日子 by 校长恨霸王太多 is the book where the female lead didn’t end up with the supporting guy most ppl ship:( I read good comments on this book but I scare I can’t ship the male lead. If you’ve read this, comments pls. Another book is a not famous book read by C gege called 玩个天下好胃疼 by 老娘取不出名字了. I doubt you’ve read it but if yes, feedback pls:)
resident game-addict is happy to answer your questions xP
NPC is non-player character
Boss is a powerful monster/villain NPC
打怪 I think is just fighting monsters??
Have no idea what JQ or LG means though
hehe (blushes~). Too lazy to learn a new language right now. If Ruco is willing to teach me, then I’ll consider it but only if he wears glasses, lol.
Is the female lead’s name Xiao Zhou which is like “little pig?” The story begins with her on a matchmaking date mistaking the male lead as her date and then her real date shows up? If yes, then I’ve read it but can’t really remember, unfortunately. This means I must not have liked it a lot because I usually remember the stories I like.
This hasn’t been translated 🙁
BOSS is as raini explained. In online game novels, it’s usually everyone getting together to go take down a BOSS, lol. I think it’s like a monster and when you kill it, you get points or equipments/treasures that you can use.
JQ is not an online game term. Viet translators explain that it’s short for “jian qing.” I guess in English, it means having naughty thoughts, lol.
Don’t know about the other acronyms.
Thank you very much raini but it seems that you are a ‘low ranking’ addict since you got 2 out of 4 right, haha…..Arrrrgh I wish I’ve the time to play online game but I can’t afford to have another addiction:(
Haha, I can play table tennis with Ruco, can you:P? I don’t think he can speak Mandarin well. If you wanna learn Cantonese, I can teach you wearing specs, lol. Btw what TVB drama are you watching? I am watching Highs & Lows with Ray Lam. You read the news abt BBJX2. I am not keen on mainland modern drama. They should film an ancient one but not Qing era, a wuxia is best:)
Xiao Zhou is the female lead of what book? I like pig, lol. Huh, are we talking abt the same book? The female lead for 与大神JQ的日子 is called Zhu (Bamboo) Xiao Tao & male lead is called Lin Jiang Xian. I don’t really know the storyline except the male lead is a hacker. Probably bcos you are not into online game so you can’t remember online game novels much. I need to continue this book. The guy is just so swoon worthy, lol.
Boss is pretty much a really hard monster to defeat and is usually defeated in groups. However, they usually have rare drops and/or high experience points.
JQ is 激情, which is pretty much passion.
In this book apparently LG can be two different things. 老公 which means husband or 龙宫 which means dragon palace, so I’ assuming it is a race/class of character choice.
打怪 is to fight monsters, to gain experience points and level.
Ahahaha, skyblu you are reading this or finished reading:P? How do you like it? Oh ya, LG means lao gung. Huh, all the online games also have to fight monsters. Sometime I get a bit confused reading the game part but I like it when it interacts with real life. The male lead complained in the game blog his wife is locking him out of the room & all the gamers know they are living together, lol.
Nope, read the first chapter, but it didn’t suck me in. So I’m putting it on hold for now. Suddenly craving for something really tear-jerking. Or a pair of enemies that became lovers or lovers becoming enemies kind of story.
Am willing to learn table tennis or anything else Ruco wants to teach me!!!♥♥♥
Not watching TVB at the moment. I love undercover cops series, but I have an aversion to Ray & Kate so uncertain about H&L. I like wuxia too and wish more are made. But pls, not the constant repetition of Jin Yong novels. I’m JY’s biggest fangirl, but there should be a sufficient break between the adaptations. Someone needs to remake Gu Long’s Against the Blade of Honor. It’s a good wuxia story. Don’t know why no one picks it up.
Don’t know about mainland China, but I read that TVB doesn’t make a lot of wuxia because it’s expensive, and you know TVB is cheapo, cheapo!! Also, I think Hong Kong viewers prefer modern comedies & family dramas.
Xuan Yuan Sword (w/ Hu Ge, LSS, etc.) has recently been dubbed in Viet so I’m watching that. Was hoping it’d be funny like Chinese Paladdin 3 (Hu Ge & Yang Mi were hilarious and adorable together), but not enjoying XYS much. Struggling to finish it, including a lot of fast-forwarding.
I hope mainland China would adapt more romance novels, especially the fantasy ones like Heavy Sweetness or 3L3W10MPL.
I got the wrong book because the title also had JQ in it. Did some more Googling and found the right one. The translator’s done 1/3 and dropped it so don’t think I’ll read it because I won’t know how it ends anyway, lol.
Oh, you need to read a few more chapters to get into the book. I am in the middle & enjoying the online game warfare, lol. The guy is such a rogue (无赖). Give this book another go when you are in the mood for a funny book.
I think ancient book is more of a tear jerker. Heard 帝王业 is touching but I don’t know if you can cry:P I think 良言写意 and 晨曦之雾 are 2 modern novels on revenge/enemy so you can give them a try. If you crave xian xia, heard 落花时节又逢君 is quite good. Post any good crying book preferably with smiling ending as I want to read one next:) I’ve been laughing too much lately:) Need a good crying to cleanse my eyes, lol.
I don’t like Kate also but I watch that drama for Ella & Michael Miu. At the beginning it is interestingly high but I feel it is getting low now:( Oh, KM’s new drama will be released soon but I’ll be on holiday & my pay tv doesn’t repeat that soon, bah:( DId I tell you I am KM’s fan, lol? I feel he is the best role model in TVB. Such a hard working & down to earth guy with near zero love rumours:P
I think Gu Long isn’t very popular in China. There are a lot of good wuxia novels with good MVs in tudou which will be awesome if they get adapted. Aiya, if I know Chinese, I’ll go to China & film them & get rich, lol. I am allergic to JY’s dramas, saw too many till I can tell them back to front:P Haha, well you believe me if I tell you I’ve never watched CP1 or 3 as I feel China’s CGI gives me goosebumps haha… I still cringe at the lotus flowers boat rowing scene in BBJX, lol.
Which book has the female lead named pig? Anyway that 2 online game books I mentioned are nothing to shout abt. This book is better so remember to reread this:)
Hey, I can totally cry. Just finished 芊泽花. It’s about two girls, best friends, who traveled through time, into an unknown kingdom/universe. The first couple of chapters are actually about a sacrifice ritual, in which the two girls are participants of. The main girl Qian Ze is pretty likeable but I like her best friend Yu Qing more.
It does have a happy ending, but I don’t think you’ll like it very much since the main lead is very tyrannical and cruel. Ye was so-so, cruel, manipulative, and hateful. But I loved Ming Yue (second/third male lead) it’s too bad that he is destined for a sad fate. I cried in the extra that tells his story.
Arrrgh sound like a good book but why the female lead cannot end up with the male supporting? I dislike ancient book bcos the female lead always end up with the so-so male lead & the male supporting lead will either be alone or die. I always cry bcos I always ship the supporting guy. I cried for MJ in Ballad of the Desert & Cloud Song more than HQB or Ling gege. Most ancient book authors write terrible or average male lead but awesome supporting male. Whereas modern books have swoon worthy male leads:)
I’ve had second lead syndrome since forever. I almost always prefer the second lead to male leads. The supporting males generally have a better personality, does more for the female lead, and sacrifices more. The biggest problems for them are fate and timing.
In Cloud Song, I loved Meng Jue most. His only problem was that his foundation was a lie, and he can’t change the past. In the beginning, he didn’t know he was in love with Yun Ge, so I couldn’t blame him for lying.
Lol, you love the faithful males, the kind who won’t marry for power. Modern males can’t get away with polygamy like ancient males can. There are also different themes. So it’s not really fair to compare. But I will agree and say modern male leads are generally more likable as a person.
Haha i like ancient because the guys usually are more complicated. I can’t stand any dragging though. Agree that its unfair to compare. I have to rate modern and ancient on different scales. What makes a good ancient novel doesn’t necessary make a good modern novel. Love to read about a couple on opposite side of the battlefield whether it be modern or ancient. Lawyer?
I have dry eyes so i do need a good cryable read. I think reading too much also makes u more tolerant towards scenes that would make a regular person cry.
Aiya, I am not comparing modern & ancient books. Just saying I prefer modern novels bcos the guys are way better. Usually modern books only have one male lead. If there is a 2nd male lead, usually he is a baddie, bland or a caricature for comic relief so no match for the male lead. But in ancient book, the 2nd male leads are always very good but don’t get the girl:( I believe it is the intention of the writers to break our hearts:( Thus I’ll only read ancient books with equally awesome 1st & 2nd male leads or the male lead choose beauty & not power.
Hey Chancy, you should read Yun Zhong Ge after your final so you can cry like a baby:P Although you know the gist of the story, reading it is really different. Yeh skyblu loves MJ similar to me, haha….Seem like most ppl prefer Ling gege. I like him too but not as much as MJ. Yah, he lied but they are harmless & he redeemed himself in the later part of the story. Actually I dislike YG for being so unforgiving. I know there can’t be a happy ending but my poor MJ:( Everytime I read abt him I feel sad, boo hoo hoo…
Yah, in 良言写意, the female lead is a lawyer. Might read this book next. Lidge, I bet you read this book b4, so feedback pls:P
Chancy, this hasn’t been translated so I haven’t read it.
pls spoil away, as much info as you can, my drug dealer 🙂 🙂 🙂
To post spoilers you do (spoiler) blah blah (/spoiler), but replace () with . If you give me interesting tidbits, I would constantly think about it, until I’m tempted to read it. Besides spoilers are just flashing lights that say “READ ME! READ ME!”
I meant <, and if that doesn't show up the sideways carrot sign, or the greater/less than sign.
