    (c) Accompanying the Phoenix.

Would appreciate if you could give a brief summary of the above title and translate this title to Chinese that I can search for it?

Hi there…i am also another big fan of “阿九” ancient books..I second all dramabooksandsea recommendation…those 3 are very good read for me too…hence i was even a little dissappointed on this book..more than “魔尊”-demon lord. I finished this book in 2 days. There is too much shadow of Guoguo’s 花千骨”。。i like 阿九 books being funny and short..this is way too draggy…plus i find myself very much a shipper of her /her master 🙁 There is another master/disciple series which i really like..so far both are written in short stories…for those who can read chinese, u might like to check this too “师父系列” by the same author .thks for putting this up ♡♡♡♡

    @snow berries

I DEFINITELY WILL CHECK OUT THE MASTER DISICPLE SERIES!!! I didnt know it existed so thanks for the heads up! Are they HE?
Have you read 桑歌?Its another short story by Nine that i recently discovered in the abyss known as the internet. Its kinda bittersweet and a nice read on the bus.

I definitely will.. when i get to it… lols the list is getting really long…

    @ serendipity

I notice all of 阿九 short stories carry a bitter sweet tint including 桑歌. I read Eastern palace and 华胥引 before so while this is nicely written, it is too short to leave a deep impression. I like my stories fun and sweet….”once impulsive, 7 years of unlucky” is still my most favourite read…his 2 other short stories 桃妖 and 挖坟 is more my cup of tea.

Hi serendipity. Thanks for introducing Sang Ge!! Really enjoyed it. It felt similar to another novel introduced in the novel where the female lead also passed away and continued to follow the male lead after her death as a ghost.

But I would prefer a better ending – the male lead telling the female lead that she no longer has to wait for him. Ah sigh.

No problem. its nice to share with others!

I interpreted the last part different than you. When he said that she no longer had to wait for him, I interpreted it as he was about to meet up with her. In other words, the king was about to die and they would reunite and she no longer had to wait. Im not sure if my interpretation was correct but that was my thought. I like to think they ended up together cause i cant stand angst. lols.

Ill definitely give those a try. I had tao yao on my list. lols! Im currently taking a mini modern refresher before i dive back into ancient books. 🙂 I dont mind bitter sweet short stories cause im not as attached to the characters…. But i really liked sang ge. Her character really made an impact on me. I have no idea why but she did.

My favorite nine book is San Sheng but 77 is definitely really refreshing.

I’ve been reading too many modern novels and was just craving an adventure/cultivation story so I’m going to give this a shot! Thanks for the recommendation.

I think I probably enjoyed it a bit more than you did. 😀 Aside from this book, I have only read “Sansheng” but now that I am done with this one, I think I will move onto “Accompanying the Phoenix”. I believe that is a rather popular one on SSB. 🙂

I don’t particularly like how flimsy the romance in this book can be at times (I like the characters of this novel a lot more when I don’t focus on this aspect) so I tried to ignore it and mainly focused on the adventures, the mystery, and the action. I think that probably made it a more enjoyable read.

I must be one of the outliers here, because I actually find both the story and characters interesting LOL. My own interpretation of the female character is that she may appear heartless, because she consistently tells herself and other characters that she doesn’t want to help, etc. However, if we also look at her actions, she consistently put herself in risky situations for others. She may not have lengthy, cheesy dialogues/soliloquy explaining why she thinks justice should be served like other heroines, but the story slowly clues us in on her moral values and character based on her actions. So, I actually find her to be quite unique.

Similar to Demon King’s romance, I actually enjoyed the gradual development of the relationship. Based on both leads’ history, it wouldn’t make sense if the relationship had developed too fast. Otherwise, both characters would seem fickle and unloyal in the “name of love” LOL.

I love this novel. It is very well written. The MC’s thoughts and deeds. A fiesty and outspoken girl. Not your atypical beautiful Mary Sue. The author never describe as beautiful. ML is pretty though. A story about two destined to help each due to fate. ML slowly warmed to MC. The supporting characters are interesting too. It is funny and yet when MC had to sacrifice for the ML, it is sad and sweet.
