She said: “Thank you, for giving me so much love and caring , but now I want to leave you.”
I like i like! Have u tried it yet peanuts?
For atsu & lidge, the lovers of separate & reunion theme novel:) You can keep it in view & read later. If I don’t post it now, I’ll forget later. The audiobook is done by the same team/broadcasting coy that did He Yi Sheng Zhao Mo. Have you read this book? I don’t know if it is good or there is a happy ending. Read it at your own risk so pls don’t throw egg at me if your guy does not get the girl:P
Wah, you are so fast as I just posted it, haha…….I only heard 5 mins of it so no comments. I suspect the quality of this audiobook will be bad also bcos of the boadcasting coy kept on saying it is illegal to download this copyrighted audio broadcast. Btw, you like everything:P I go to sleep now, see you in the morning:)
Aiya, Peanuts, why are you so awesome?! I’ve never read it, but the description sounds exactly like what I was wanting to read, haha!! Thank you!!
Thanks for the rec, peanuts. I’m familiar with this author. Her other works are 这么远,那么近; 良辰讵可待; and 尽在不言中. I did try reading 这么远,那么近 but dropped it after a few chaps. Will try to read them all when I have time b/c of the positive reviews. There’s one more work, but I can’t track down the name in Chinese. Coincidentally, that’s the only one I’ve finished. The story is about the main girl moving to a city to chase after her crush. The main guy is blind, and they meet because their apartments are opposite of each other’s. It turns out that the main guy and the main girl’s crush are related, can’t remember if they’re brothers or cousins. The story wasn’t bad, but nothing spectacular either.
After peanuts posted this review, I’ve manged to read a few chaps. of this book. So far, the plot feels more like The Third Kind of Love. The main guy needs to marry a rich girl to solidify his position b/c his 2 brothers are trying to get rid of him, but he likes the main girl who’s poor. However, this author seems to lean towards the Cinderella motif so I’m guessing it’ll be a happy ending between the main girl and the CEO.
You are welcomed. This is the only audiobook I can find for this author. I think 良辰讵可待 is her most famous book but no audiobook:( I wish I can read Chinese or Vietnamese so my choice in books has no limit or constraint, sob sob…..
Eeeeeee, I don’t like The 3rd Kind of Love after reading xiaoyuer’s comments. I wonder if the 2nd lead is awesome enough for me to ship him because from your description I don’t fancy the lead. Oh, if i ship the 2nd guy & she ends up with the main guy, I’ll cry the house down:(
poor peanuts (hugs~)
I’m pretty confident this won’t end like The 3rd Kind of Love. I just meant the set-up seems familiar b/c the main guy, who I’m guessing is the CEO and not her college boyfriend (I could be wrong), has to marry a rich girl to solidify his position in the family over his brothers. My impression of this author is that her stories are like modern Cinderella stories. My guess is the CEO won’t marry the rich girl, will pull of some awesome corporate maneuvers to successfully gain control of the family business, and will end up happily ever after with the main poor-as-a-mouse main girl.
This author isn’t one of my favorites because I like funny stories with cute moments between the main couple, doesn’t matter which genre. So while this author’s stories are interesting, her writing style is a bit dry for me.
Thank you for your tissue paper:) If too many cute moments then not enough angsts to tug my heart, haha….Anyway I’ll only listen to this book when I don’t have many good books left:P Btw are you still reading Who Gets the World? There are parts that are quite funny:)
I can’t continue with WGTW for the moment due to school. Actually, I’ve been trying to go completely cold turkey for the past few days and stop reading to concentrate on school. Just that I haven’t been able to do it (sigh~). But I really must do it and push school to be my #1 priority. I keep telling myself that after this huge sacrifice, I’ve got the rest of my life to indulge myself in reading…hehe.
Yes, need to get your priority right but only 1st week of school so can still peep at some books:P Anyway after you graduate, the library is your playground but in English only right:P?
While the majority of library materials are still in English, cities in the US are becoming more diverse due to immigration. For example, in my city, public libraries now have materials in Vietnamese, Chinese, and Spanish, which are the large minority groups.
The problem, I find, is not the lack of materials for non-English speakers but the selection of the materials. The majority of librarians are Caucasians who do not understand other cultures fully (and I don’t blame them for this). While they try their best, they end up choosing materials that might not match the tastes of people from different cultures. For example, my local library has lots of books in Vietnamese, but it drives me nuts that they’re very boring. And rarely any of the translated romance books from Chinese, which is very popular in Vietnam. And omg, don’t get me started on the horrible movies selection!!!! That is a crime in itself and gets my blood boiling since I’m such a huge drama addict.
I feel incredibly passionate about this. Hopefully when I work as a librarian, I’ll be able to make a difference in the library services available to the Viet population in my area. Ummm, but I got to graduate first though…hehe
me also don’t need too many cute moments. I prefer angst moments that tug at my heart. But they need happy ending. But, I don’t like when they stress out my heart with all that tugging and then the ending is a bad one. Thats too much to handle.
Started reading this story, I like it so far. When I first read, I thought that she was Cinderella with the first guy, but it turns the other way around. lol
这么远,那么近 (This far, yet this close) sounds like a good read, I like the title already. Just from the title names, I think this author’s novels will be very enjoyable read for me. All modern I assume.
I listened to chapter 1 & skipped around the novel last night. I think I like the voice for the 2nd guy better. If she ends up with the 1st guy, sob sob….That Zhejiang Broadcasting does a lot of modern novels. The quality is ok but I get really annoyed being disrupted with their anti-downloading warnings every few mins:( The author is ok. Will like it better if she injects a bit more humour as my concentration starts to wonder off with some overly descriptive passages.
Just finished the book. There isn’t really a feel of separation and reunion because of the way the story flows. There actually isn’t much angst since the other rich girl doesn’t show up much, and Jiang Yun Zheng doesn’t ask her to be a mistress. He just doesn’t believe in marriage.
I liked the happy ending, but the audiobook was a bit annoying. There really wasn’t a need for there to be two introductions a chapter, and the random guy talking about AMY was annoying.
So far i dont like either guys. One has a moral problem of chasing after a girl who has a bf already. The other has a inferior complex. I don’t feel sorry for him at all.
Agree this audiobook’s excessive intros do get annoying. I dislike the voiced over copyright the most, can’t hear.
Wow skyblu, you are fast:) After reading Chancy & your comments, I won’t start this book but maybe listen to Our Eventually Lost Youth. Hopefully that book has more to offer to tug my heart. Have you read that book?
Any broadcast done by Amy is annoying. Thus, if I can find alternative, I’ll never support them. Sharing is caring. Don’t alway disrupt the broadcast with unnecessary messages. Just mention it once at the begining or ending of the broadcast is more than enough. If I can write Chinese, I feel like writing to them to complain:P I made the mistake of listening to Amy’s He Yi Sheng Zhao Mo. Spoilt the book for me only:( I found a better version so I gonna relisten again.
I don’t really think it’s a moral problem, it’s more of a confidence/lack-of-care-towards-others problem. I believe his words, “I don’t see how you having a boyfriend should affect my pursuing you,” or something along those lines. I mean, he pretty much let Lin Nuo break up with him the first time without asking why because he thought he didn’t need her over his pride.
Xu Zhi An has this issue because he grew up poor. Because he grew up with a lack of it, he thinks that earning money would improve his situation (which is true physically but very bad for his relationship.) Although his actions near the end were irredeemable, it was out-of-character; he deserves Ding Xiao Jun.
So far xu zhi an gets another girl in the end? Im only where he is asking lin nuo to wait for him.and she asks if he is even afraid that when he comes back she is already with another guy. So far i think i have something against lin nuo too, that she always refers to her bf as her friend in front of the main guy, though he knows he is her bf. I quit this book..so hard to find modern reads. Many of the ancient books its 80% i will like. Modern rare finds.
Continuing this novel again.
I though you are reading To Our Eventually Lost Youth?
Yes that and He Yi Chen (gu man) and this.
