In the prehistoric times, the 200,000 year of Tian Yuan, the flower deity Zi Fen dies after giving birth to a daughter. Before she passed, she fed her daughter the Unfeeling Pill, ordered her subordinates to keep the girl’s birth story a secret and to imprison her within Shui Jing for ten thousand years. The girl’s name is Jin Mi.
Four thousand years later, the Heavenly Emperor’s second son, the Phoenix Fire Deity was entrapped by someone and mistakenly entered Shui Jing. He was saved by the ignorant Jin Mi. After living together for a hundred years, the Fire Deity gradually developed feelings for Jin Mi. Who would have thought that he would be attracted to Jin Mi?
In between the Heavenly World and the Devil World, there is an immeasurably deep River of Forgetfulness, where the war between the Fire Deity and Night Deity finally erupts.

*Love, love, love this book as well as xiaoyyuer’s translations:) Anyone know any other book written by this author? Although I like Tang Qi Gong Zi, I find this book better than 3L3W10MPB in term of plot & characters. The story is much more interesting & exciting plus less choppy. The characters are also more endearing & memorable. This is my personal opinion only & I am not criticising 3L3W10MPB so 3L3W’s fans, pls don’t get annoyed with me. To each its own:)
Although sometime, I get annoyed with Jin Mi for being too naive & clueless, I do enjoy her simple & funny interactions with others. I miss her terribly after she spit out the unfeeling pill. I can feel the love between her & Fire Deity more than the other book. Also, Fire Deity is more likeable as he didn’t take Jin Mi’s eyes away no matter under what circumstances:P Fire Deity is a tad too serious for my liking. It’ll be nice if he is more humorous. Btw, why people say this book is similar to 3L3W as I can’t see where is the similarity?
There is similarities in the writing style between Tang Qi and Dian Xian I suppose. I don’t know where the comparisons come from. I just know that the characters in Tang Qi’s stories have more of a ‘modern’ mentality. They’re always poking fun at modern aspects like guy-guy an such.
I heard that many Dian Xian fans also liked her 薄荷荼靡梨花白.
This is one of my faves! The main couple is adorable and hilarious together that one can’t help but love them. I’ve read this so many times that I pretty much have memorized the story, and it never fails to crack me up whenever I re-read it. The disappointing is I think this author has only written 2 novels, right? sigh~~~ Wish the author would write more.
she’s written 3 books:
For me, the similarity is in the writing style. Both authors have an off-beat, humorous way of writing that cracks me up.
There’s been a lot of comparisons between 3W3L10MPB and Heavy Sweetness, probably because both stories are the most popular in the fantasy genre so there’s bound to be comparisons? I don’t know. But in terms of similarity in characters, I think the main female character in Hua Xu Yin and Jin Mi in Heavy Sweetness are more alike in that they’re both way too naive for their own good but absolutely adorable in their bumbling way. Oh, and they’re paired with a hot, too-awesome-for-words crown prince XD.
I like Hua Xu Yin’s Su Yu more. haha But Jin Mi and Ah Fu are indeed very similar like you pointed out.
Heehee, I also like Su Yu more than Shu Feng but don’t write this on XiaOyuer’s tumblr because she & Melanie love Shu Feng, lol. When you mentioned it, I agreed Ah Fu rather than Susu/Bai Qian is more similar to Jin Mi. However HXY is such a sad book. Luckily Ah Fu is so bumbly or else I would have flooded my room with tears:P
Thanks for the info 🙂
I’ve only heard of 薄荷荼靡梨花白 and 香蜜沉沉烬如霜.
I also thought she has 2 books so want to save the 2nd book until the 3rd book is published, lol. Now I can listen to 薄荷荼靡梨花白 but I wonder if 两只前夫一台戏 is nice as google translated it as 2 ex-husbands in a drama??? Yahoo, I found audio book on it.
I like to stock up at least 1 novel from my fav authors for emergency, haha….
I’ve found a link for 两只前夫一台戏. OMG!!!!!!! Soooo happy!!! XDXD. Hope it’s as funny and adorable as Heavy Sweetness.
Guess I’ll go to sleep verrrry late tonight….lol. I’ve been staying up til 3AM the past few nights reading, and I have a few more I plan to start on. I’ve been coming to work looking like death, all pale and tired. Guess I’ll look like death again tomorrow^^
Is is not time travel right? I saw genre as fantasy. Because Dian Xian’s other novel was time traveler. haha, I hope to sleep by 1am tonight. I have exam tomorrow so need to wake up early tomorrow to cram some more. Last time, I was reading till 12am, and than couldn’t go to sleep til 6am in the morning because of anxiety. These books…..really bad for health.
Hahaha, tell me abt it bcos I look like a ghost now:P I am downloading at lunch time now, muahahah……Btw tell me if the book is nice bcos the title sounds weird. They translated it to Vietnamese?
Good luck for your exam tomorrow since you need it, haha….Stop reading novels & start reading text books:P
The title uses the unit of birds to count the exhusbands. Two Ex-Husbands on one Stage?
I’ll start reading now so I’ll update later on how I feel about it. The translator is only 1/3 way through though….aghhhh! My sanity…lol. But it seems the translator is working at a good, steady pace. Are you able to get the entire book in audio? ahhhh, I’m jealous! The Viet title translated into English is the same as the once chancy provided, which is 2 Ex-Husbands on 1 Stage.
I’m not sure what genre it is, but the tag says historical. The cover shows the characters in ancient clothing http://imagesup.net/?di=5134448458615. I’ll start reading now. Will update on how I feel about it later 🙂
Wahaha, such a cute cover. I am laughing already. Wah you super fast reader, enjoy your read while I slave away working for my deadline.
Finally, finally got around to reading the epilogues. They are so cute!!!! Though, it seems that Jin Mi doesn’t like to ‘shuang xiu’ with the Phoenix that much… And their little egret son, hehe. It seems that water is more dominant than fire.
I feel somewhat bad for Ren Yu because he is still alone (he just moved from his Xuan Ji Palace to the Heavenly Palace), but I do admire him for allowing Jin Mi to find her own happiness with Xu Feng. He’s 1000000x better than his father.
You like the book so much, why only now you read the epilogues? I listened to the epilogues so many times I’ve lost count, haha….Jin Mi regained her cute personality in the epilogues as I feel she become too weepy in the last part of the book. The part on her pregnancy is so funny as well as she teaching the son to fish for a wife:) She is also not that interested in getting ‘lingli’ anymore which angers Phoenix, heehee…
I wanted to savor the bittersweetness of the ending, so I held off on reading the epilogues. And then I got distracted by everything else… I didn’t have anything else to listen to today and I remembered that I still haven’t listened to the epilogues, so I finally got around to them today.
Ahahaha, only Jin Mi would think of fishing for a mermaid for her son. It’s like when she told Xiao Yu Xian Guan that he could buy a mortal wife. 😀
The Phoenix and Jin Mi are such an odd but functional couple. I wonder how much lingli Jin Mi has now? What will happen when her lingli surpasses the Phoenix? Hehe.
I just started this book today! I must admit that it was hard to start at first coz i got lost in the plot but once I got to the part when Jin Mi meets the “crow”, things did start picking up!!
I actually like her! A lot! For being so dimwitted, though no fault of hers since she ate the 陨丹 as a baby, and for being so simple… I think the adjective given her by 飞絮 was 缺心眼 which literally translates to lacking eyes to the heart but I just like her undiscerning she is!
I shall go and continue devouring the book heh!
Yes, yes, xiaoyuer & I love this book. I love Jin mi bcos she is so funny & clueless. The audiobook is also good. You ship her with who? I pro Shu Feng, heehee..Xiaoyuer is translating this book. Go to her tumblr for more discussions & information if you need any.
Eh? Is this where everyone has been congregating? Xia0yuer is no longer translating the Jin Mi story? 🙁
Since the translation has stopped, can someone give me a summary of what happens after chapter 6? I have a vague idea, but the details are sort of hazy to me. How did Xu Feng die? How did he revive himself? What happened after his revival? How did he and Jin Mi meet up again? How did Jin Mi die at the end? She did die, didn’t she? Because somehow, she was reborn again and somehow Xu Feng knew where to find her reincarnation. What confused me was how Jin Mi seemed to act exactly like her old funny self in the epilogue. Didn’t she reincarnate and was technically a different person? How did her reincarnated version attain immortality if she was reborn as a human? How could she remember all the deities (Xu Feng, Ren Yu, etc.) once she reincarnated?
I will say that the epilogue was extremely enjoyable, or from what I could understand of it. Jin Mi did seem to enjoy shuang xiu less than Xu Feng did. Ha. It seemed like she was using sexual distraction whenever Xu Feng was angry with her or if she wanted something from him. Their little son was adorable. I also thought Xu Feng’s intense desire for a baby was cute, too.
Ah, Ren Yu. I feel really sorry for him, especially when Jin Mi told him earnestly that he must be happy, too, and he just smiled gently before leaving. Jin Mi thought he was happy, but I don’t think he was. He attained his throne, but it was just an empty victory. Xu Feng was the one who really won; he had a loving family, happiness, whereas Ren Yu had his title of Heavenly Emperor, a cold substitute in my opinion. But I was glad the author didn’t randomly give Ren Yu some love interest at the end. It would have seemed as if she was merely trying to “pretty up” the ending unnecessarily.
Mel, patience, I’ve just been busy…. I’m 2/3 done with Ch. 7…
Oh! So you’re still translating this story! Yay!
Dropping in here from the thread on Eastern Palace/Goodbye My Princess, where Mei has asked: does the Empress, i.e., the Fire Deity’s mother, ever get her comeuppance?
And Peanuts (knowing that I have been rabidly blitzing through this book) has bade me to drop the answer here (behold your power, P, for I have obeyed as you commanded – :P)
Spoilers ahead for the Empress and Emperor’s fates.
So, the Heavenly Emperor (Fire and Night’s father in this case) punished the Heavenly Empress as follows: “Arrest the Heavenly Empress and incarcerate her in the Pi Suo Prison. She is deposed of her position as heavenly empress and [her name] is forbidden to enter the Immortal Records forevermore.”
I don’t think there was any other punishment other than this.
As for the Heavenly Emperor, (from what I gathered) he was exiled by the Night Deity to an island outside of the heavens.
JM didn’t have much feeling so his relationship with phoenix is unequal fr the very beginning. Night deity is such a hypocrite. I didn’t like him fr the moment he appeared in the novel:P I can smell a rat fr a mile away, lol. If you are not there yet, phoenix didn’t kill water deity. HurEr & I trusted him & never believed he can do such awful thing:P Although phoenix is rather bland & domineering, we still ship him bcos he is so nice to JM which you’ll find out later. Actually night deity isn’t that bad so he deserves your support:)
A big thank you to HuiEr for posting the spoiler bcos I can’t remember much of this novel except the OTP:P She is listening to FQH now so what is your next book, Mei? We strongly recommend HXY bcos it is our fav book:)
Another thank you to HuiEr for translating the 3rd epilogue for those who can’t understand Chinese & wait for xiaoyuer to finish translating:)
Woah Peanuts. Strong reaction to Night ey – You didn’t like him from the moment he appeared in the novel. Lol. But still, I sail on USS OTP (Sorry, Mei).
Translating is exhausting! Haha. I have now reached a new level of profound respect for people like Chancy and Xia0yuer who actually commit to translating entire books. Me – I’ll just stick to translating scenes to hook people into my favourite books.
Actually, because HS is written from first POV, we only see what Jin Mi feels. And given that she has had the unfeeling pill in her for most of the time, she can’t feel emotions the way normal people do. So, when interpreting everyone’s actions through her eyes, you need to amp up the volume on emotions.
Can’t say that Phoenix treats Jin Mi badly. I think objectively, he did a lot for her regardless of whether she realises it or not. At the most basic level, he spent time to actually train and help her in the art of meditation and self-cultivation. Let’s not forget, he’s really willing to literally attack his own mother to save her. And really, unlike Night, what he does is really sincere and wholeheartedly because it isn’t in his character to be calculative and manipulative.
Haha, okay, Peanuts and HuiEr, given your stellar recommendations of the Fire Deity, I will give him another chance. 😉 It’s true that XMCCJRS is written from JM’s POV, so our understanding of the Fire Deity is rather colored by hers. I’ve just been suspicious whether he’s actually teaching her self-cultivation or taking advantage of her naïveté to get her to serve him, because underneath that Spirit-Sealing Hairpin she’s already an immortal and he’s been aware of that hairpin since the beginning.
Also, thanks so much for the spoiler, HuiEr! I admit, I still haven’t gotten past where xia0yuer’s translations end; I had to stop listening to the audiobook alone and am instead concurrently listening to the audiobook and reading the text, which is slow-going since I can’t be doing other things as I would if I were just listening to the audiobook alone. I had to switch to reading/listening to the book this way because I was just missing out on so much when listening alone (yes, even with xia0yuer’s translations in the back of my mind!). The way 电线 writes is very poetic and lyrical, but 90% of it also goes over my head. I also decided to start over from the beginning so that maybe by the time I get to where xia0yuer’s translations end, I’ll have gotten somewhat used to the way DX writes and can forge ahead by myself. Or maybe that’s just wishful thinking on my part.
HuiEr, do you have a blog? I’d love to read your scene translations. 🙂
I love Fire, so… 😀 Tsk tsk, really Mei – you should give Fire another chance. He definitely took the excuse of teaching her in order to spend more time with her, but isn’t it normal? And the things that she does – most other female fairies will give an arm and a leg plus a couple of hundred years of lingli to be in her shoes. I mean, its really nothing too taxing – just to grind ink for him, follow him around and run some errands. Just take it that she’s paying off rent and tuition. I think it’s sweet that he wants to keep her around. Of course, she just think its bothersome.
I think listening to the audiobook with the actual e-book is a good idea to help you get a feel of the terms. That’s what I did with some of the more exciting parts so that I don’t get lost.
Lol – I just started a blog today. I did two scene translations – one is the 3rd epilogue for this book and the other is from Hua Xu Yin (which we have been trying to hook you in, no?) You can find it here: http://hui3r.wordpress.com/
I think my current “aversion” to the Fire Deity is at least partly due to the fact that I’ve had to reread the beginning chapters multiple times now, so the Fire Deity’s domineering treatment of JM is currently strongly imprinted in my mind (and I’m probably also developing JM and Fire Deity fatigue), whereas at this point, I still don’t know much about the Night Deity, so I’m eager to find out more about what’s running beneath the surface. In fact, I’m a little worried that I’m developing XMCCJRS fatigue in general; this book is so much harder to get through than I’d anticipated!
As for HXY: Don’t worry, I actually was planning to pick this book up eventually! It’s just that I have some other books that I want to finish first (like XMCCJRS), and in order not to confuse myself, I prefer to finish books one at a time. Question, though, I heard HXY has a sad ending? In general, I avoid books that don’t have happy endings (Eastern Palace was more the exception than the norm), although I can sometimes be enticed by spoilers. 😉 (Well, more like spoilers let me know what to expect, so I can somewhat harden my heart in advance.)
The first few chaps are hard going, mostly because there’s a lot of world building so also go a lot of “invented words” and “things” that without the actual chinese characters in front of you, it’s hard to guess what they actually mean. But once you get the hang of it, you should be fine.
Well… About Night… Let’s just say he has his own plans, eh.
Re HXY: I think given the tone and set up for the book, the ending is a qualified Happily Ever After. I mean, the premise starts with a dead princess being animated by a magic pearl – you can only go so far to give them a happily ever after.
I love HEAs myself and I was pretty satisfied with the ending of HXY. 🙂
You are welcome. Hahaha, Miss Hui Er also can’t find MP3 files so I went to her rescue:P Then, i changed the link. If you find any link is not MP3 friendly, do let me know.
Question: Anyone know where I can download the audiobook in MP3 format? All of the sites I’ve tried only have it in FLV format.
Pls click on the audiobook link below the intro on this page. Heehee, a bit of self-promotion but you can get practically any available links here:P Drop me a msg if you’ve any problem with links. How are you progressing with this book?
As for HXY’s ending, I can assure you, it is not as abusive as Eastern Palace. It all depends on how you interpret it. For many like Hui Er & Chenguang, they feel it is a happy one but I feel kind of sad. Anyway this should not deter you from reading it. Btw both of them are going to translate the book.
Thanks, Peanuts! Last time I checked the audiobook link, the files were all FLV. I guess someone changed the link to an MP3-friendly website while I wasn’t looking. 🙂
So good! I’ve discovered this site via different chinese novels translations. I can’t read chinese or understand so i’am very grateful. Ive read several times xiaoyuer translations and i really love it. How i wish she would have continue. ( sorry for my bad english)
Your English is fine. I’ll leave a note if xiaoyuer continue to translate later. Hui Er translated the epilogue (ending) if you are interested. If you are desperate I can do a summary for you. I can only translate modern book which I am doing now:)
Yes, i’ve read Hui Er ‘s very cute epilogue ^^
That would be so nice of you if you could make a summary, really, I meant it *—–*
Thanks for the continues support, everyone. The rest of Chapter 7 is up!
SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS
I adore Xu Feng and his passion for Jin Mi, but Ren Yu also tugs at my heartstrings. Yes, Ren Yu used Jin Mi to destroy Xu Feng but his heart really showed through during the twelve years after Ren Yu became the Heavenly Emperor. He took care of her during her hardest times wishing for nothing in return but that she remains by his side. I really don’t think Ren Yu’s love for Jin Mi is any less than Xu Feng’s, but it was Xu Feng whom she met first and with whom she spent over a century. I think love occurs in the right place, at the right time and with the right person. It just so happened that Xu Feng fulfilled all those criteria, while Ren Yu was too late.
Little Red, you won’t be needing those spoilers because I’m planning on continuing my translations. 🙂
Three cheers for xiaoyuer, hip hip hooray, lol. I was feeling guilty abt my promise & about to fulfill it which I don’t now, haha….Little Red, I owe you nothing now, xiaoyuer will repay them, heehee…Although i heard the audiobook, I still like to read your translation so you better finish it, haha….Did you inform Mel, your number 1 fan:P?
Yes, the early bird catches the worm but I feel XF’s love is more pure & real compared to RY. I believe initially he got close to JM not out of love. He wanna make use of her but grew to love her. Even then, he is also calculative & ambitious & will not hesitate to use her to further his own end.
Whao…Oh my god! Thank you for picking up this project again ^^ Really Im so happy *-* Also Thank you Peanuts, for saying that you’ll do a summary, it was really nice ^^ Instead of a summary of HSALF, I got Who Gets The World’s one ( wich I found really interesting and good).
Off to read ! ^^
I and my friend waiting for the next chapter.
xia0yuer- Cheer up!
As promised, picking up the translations from where xiaoyuer left off. Thanks again to xiaoyuer for letting me continue the translations and peanuts for helping me start out.
Will be summarising where xiaoyuer left off before starting the translations.
Here’s the summary for the prologue to chapter 3:
(I laughed a lot even while summarising haha)
Thanks for the support! <3
Here's the summaries for Chapters 4 and 5:
Hello! Thanks for the support 🙂
Finished the summaries:

Chapter 7: http://onesecondspring.blogspot.hk/2014/01/heavy-sweetness-ash-like-frost_23.html
Finally, started on the translations:
To prevent clogging up of this page, I will not post a notification everytime i update again haha. The translations will be updated regularly at the blog. Enjoy!
Just want to say thanks to Xia0yuer and Decembi for subbing this! I absolutely love it and cannot wait to read more!
I’m not going to add much by throwing in another positive review of this novel. I liked it a lot. I will, however, recommend one that gives off a very similar vibe. 沉香如屑 is also a fantasy novel with a cute, bumbling female lead who is clueless to the handsome, perfect male-lead’s love. Highly recommended if you liked Heavy Sweetness…
(Not sure if there is an audiobook, though. Sorry!)
I have had 沉香如屑 on my reading list since like forever… haha. I think one of the reasons I have not read it is precisely because I heard lots of people say it’s like Heavy Sweetness and I guess I’m “hoarding” it in the event I can’t find any good xianxia c-novels anymore!
Try giving 小江山 a try. It’s not xianxia, but there is a sprinkling of fantasy elements in there (although they play a small role only). This is one of my fave novels. I love this author, 沉筱之. She creates awesome male leads as well as 2nd male leads — handsome, caring, devoted, and a little 腹黑 in a good sense. Her female leads are the type I like: a little clueless but not stupid and not a Mary Sue. She has a very light-hearted writing style that’s easy to read, the plots are well thought out, and she usually shocks you by jerking out some tears from you. I sobbed like a baby reading 小江山, but thankfully, it has a HE. That is another signature thing of this author：always happy endings, which the escapist in me appreciates.
Hmm… I may actually post a summary of this or one of her other novels here on SSB. Someone, please go read her one of novels so I can chatter with you about it! If I haven’t read it, I’ll go do it just so we can discuss. I love this author and am surprised she isn’t more popular.
Oooh 小江山 sounds really good! I’ve never heard of the author to be honest hahaha. I think you should really post a summary! Actually the popularity of the books at SSB don’t really reflect the popularity in the c-novel world completely, part of it is if it is translated in english or people writing about it in english! 🙂 So she will probably get way more popular after you write about it!
Just want to say thank you very much to everybody who has been posting translations etc. I have enjoyed them very much. I am new to this website but does anyone have an ebook link for Heavy Sweetness, Ash Like Frost. Thank you in advance. I have tried the link above but do not know how to navigate the website because I don’t know how to read Chinese.
Hello fei, what do you mean by ebook link?
I’ve tried the link above again today and found the book. Problem solved. Thank you.
I found this novel at decembi’s blog and read more at xiaoyuer’s….thank u so much for your good heart and hard work *mwah*
Can someone pls share Phoenix’s underwater activity 😉
Tnx in advance!
Haha I would like to help but what do you mean by Phoenix’s underwater activity?
Hi decembi 🙂
I’ve read that in a comment post at wither HuiEr or xioyuer blog….i guess, its.something about Phoenix and Jin Mi playing under the water….a total swoon & squeal moment * wink *
It mentioned, ” water activity ”
Ahahaha, patient patient bcos I think decembi gonna translate that part real soon. Decembi, have you translated phoenix & jin mi’s boating in & near the water? It is the water right bcos I could have heard wrongly lol? If u dun understand what is boating, consult koalaplayground’s glossary lol.
Ah, I see that “underwater activity”. Haha. I haven’t decided how to translate that part yet hahaha. We’ll see. It’s going to be a few more chapters there, but soon.
I now know what ” boating ” meant *swoon* thou, i’d really appreciate a detailed steam *wink & sigh* lol!
Please please provide some spoilers on how JM and Phoenix “mutually cultivate” lol I’m dying to know how and when it happens
I know they “mutually cultivate” in the epilogue and I thought they are really cute. I’m not sure but I think Jin Mi got some warp idea about multual cultivation from the God of Marriage so her concept of phyical intimacy is not quite the same as say normal folks.
Spoilers on Jin Mi and Phoenix’s mutual cultivation:
Ohhh I cannot wait to read this part 😉 Melanie and Moonblossom can one of you provide a little more details on how Phoenix ended up mutually cultivating with JM? I know it’s underwater but how did it happen and did JM ask to mutually cultivate like she always does? Lol please spoil me some more it would be greatly appreciated 😉
Spoilers on mutual cultivation:
Thank you so much Melanie I greatly appreciate the spoilers. Yes I too will have to wait for Decembi’s translations 😉 Cannot wait to get to all the great parts.
As for wait I’ve read from you, I too agree that it seemed like Phoenix did take advantage of her. It surprised me though because when they were kissing last time he was able to stop and refrain himself when JM thought they would actually mutually cultivate. Can you provide some more spoilers as to what happened after he took away her innocence? How does Night find out and will there be another time where she will mutually cultivate with phoenix again? Will this story lead to an unexpected pregnancy? And last but not least what will happen to JM and Night’s engagement after this? If you can spoil me some more I would greatly appreciate it 😉
For Mayx, here are more spoilers below.
Thanks Melanie 🙂 i very much appreciated your spoilers….its better than nothing.
Oh Phoenix…why oh why? My heart kinda goes to Night. . .*angst*
I wish & hope decembi will translate all the steamy scenes in fine print detail ( pls ) that will make real bad gurls blush big time! *teehee*
Melanie’s spoilers are quite accurate except for one important part
Hahaha omg! The steamy scenes are what I have problems with, but I will take note of it *blushes* and try my best. I’ve been falling sick throughout May hence my slower translation pace.
OMG thank u so much Melanie and Decembi 😉 I love the spoilers and no matter what I’ll still continue reading every translated part because I just love this novel and Decembi is doing a great job 😉 spoilers don’t reveal every part of the story & every detail so I am fine with knowing some spoilers in fact spoilers make me want to read some more lol. Keep up with the good work Decembi. And thanks again Melanie for providing spoilers. I’m also anxiously waiting for the steamy scenes as well lol
Btw can someone tell me how JM felt after “mutually cultivating” with Phoenix? Wasn’t she mad at him at all because she was resisting in the beginning. And my other question is was Phoenix under the influence of alcohol at the time or did he just do that to her because he couldn’t control his love and emotions? lol I still love Phoenix and find him very sexy 😉
– i’ve read a comment post JM used that as an excuse to escape the wrath of that old hag empress.
Ok, so samie’s post helped me remember some stuff.
Take care & feel better decembi ♡ *xoxo*
Thank you! Haha, Heavy Sweetness should get 2 updates next week if things go well <3
includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif” alt=”;)” class=”wp-smiley” scale=”0″>
Completely agree with u mayx! Spoilers help keep me going until the next release hehehe and yes good old Phoenix did not disappoint! Yes Phoenix is smoking hot! Excuse the pun 😉
so here is my contribution to answer ur questions:
He was drunk and very emotionally unstable because he actually dragged her into the water with him and was pissed off. But when he tried to kiss her our dear clueless Jin mi jumps to the conclusion that he is trying to steal air from her so started to “fight back” for her air from his mouth! No wonder the poor guy got confused! And as things became more intense, she didnt process exactly what was happening until it wad actually happening. She initially tries to push him off but eventually didn’t know what she wanted him to ro anymore – stop or continue..
afterwards she was jusy keen to see if this mutual cultivation lead to any increase in her powers but felt kinda jipped because instead of increasing she thinks she may have gone backwards! Lol hence being annoyed with him and not wanting to see him when he comes to find her.
He takes as a “normal” person would and thought she was angry with him for what they did, he apologised but said he would do it again even if he wasnt drunk.
I kinda feel that even though she had her emotions blocked by the no-feeling pill, from the way she experiences this its as though her heart and body knows even when her mind doesnt because she doesnt react this way when say Night kisses her.
hello super latte,
Yes omg the scene is rather steamy, though Dian Xian at least makes it slightly poetic. I will try to translate it objectively haha.
The scene is in the next chapter – chapter 15!
Oh man I noe! I’ve been counting! Lol
*transfers 1000yrs of virtual lingli to Decembi*
The only mutual cultivation I beg for in return is their’s! ^_^
So lucky for u guys that there are audio books in chinese, the Chinese to vietnamese translations is very close and doesnt lose much at all so I buy the official viet versions when travelling, but man they look at u weird when u ask abt audio books, wats so wrong with being a bilingual illiterate?!
ooohh thank you so much! I cannot wait to read Decembi’s translations for this scene…I love Phoenix!! Super hot and sexy indeed lol
Hahaha omg super latte you are so excited! The pressure!!!
can someone provide a little spoiler on when Jin Mi will get the unfeeling pill out? How does she feel after? and Does Phoenix find out about the pill? Would greatly appreciate it 😉
SUPER SPOILER! Not sure i remember how to make the spoiler tags. Also, seriously, do not read if you don’t want to know THE most spoilery moment of the story haha:
ooohhh thank you so much Decembi! I cannot wait for your translations 😉 its getting better and better
No no, not pressure but encouragement! =)
you have done such an awesome job. I can only imagine the challenge to translate something like a story set in ancient times, written in Chinese and still make it flow, keeping true to the mood and meaning without losing the laughs and angst.
Sadly I can’t seem to do anything in moderation, not sure where you are based but imagine the Cookie Monster on Sesame Street, but instead of cookies its stories! Lol
I kinda gobbled everything that’s been translated on Heavy sweetness in the last week and did it again…
In the last few months since watching BBJX which lead me to reading BBJX, DMY, YZG, LYF… All in translation of course, then reverting to the Viet versions to get a more word-for-word close up, man I was spent emotionally by Tong Hua … so THANK GOD you came along with your recommendations and translation for this! With the awesome “first meeting” and the promise of a happy ending, I was done for! This so eats the like of Twilight for breakfast! Teehee
Poor hubby is seriously losing his patience! He woke and caught me under the covers at 3am (Sydney time) last night reading and lost it! Lol “I thought you said you already read the latest translated chapter? I thought you said you finished the Vet ebook in its entirety? I thought you said you said you weren’t gonna stay up for long….” “I’m sorry, But.. But.. I was just re-reading the best bits and kinda lost track…” “ You’re only sorry you got caught”. Damn he got me there!
*note to self to suppress giggling better to avoid detection in future!*
It happened to me too! Seriously, this is no good for marriage life. Before my husband gave up haunting me, I even considered staying in a hotel to get some peace. Now he has given up, things are considerably better for me, but not for us as a couple. I think all things are best in moderation, so I’m also trying to cut back a bit.
Hahahhaha! Oh gosh, the stories are too funny. Yes, I agree, everything in moderation.
Actually, it was much better after I started my blog because I would read less – I’m the kind who like to marathon novels through the night. Hahaha
Super-latte, i got bongsd to get you the link for the viet audiobook http://thegioiaudio.org/threads/truyen-audio-huong-mat-tua-khoi-suong-dien-tuyen.1229/#post-34503
It is free so you don’t need to buy it & I think that site has a lot of audio books in Viet. Unfortunately the quality of the audio books is inferior to the Chinese ones as they are read by a single reader & there is no sound effect I think. I am not Viet so I don’t know but I am used to the high quality Chinese audio books, heehee…..
Awwwwww thanks for the love Peanuts ^_^
I will def go through the link u sent !! So the Chinese audio books have multiple voices and sound effect ? whoa… So green with envy!! Seriously I went to a few book stores when I was on holidays in VN and they looked at me like an idiot for asking abt audio books – staff looks down his nose at me and said “we only have them for kids”… So wanted to slap him!
And here I was thinking to turn to my fobby cousins from Vietnam who are on a uni break atm and was gonna coerce one of the more better natured ones to read this to me, by introducing it to her and getting her hooked too! *insert evil scheming laugh* except I didn’t know how I was gonna look at her in the face when we get to a scene of passion! Lol
Oh btw will be going to Hong kong n Taiwan for holiday shortly so if anyone is based in Sydney and wants me to help buy some c-books back for u ladies I am happy to. Just note I will need a snap shot of the book’s cover cuz I don’t know Chinese and my Chinese husband any help cuz he is a “banana” – asian (Chinese) on the outside but white on the inside! Hehehe
Not all Chinese audio books have multiple sounds & sound effects but I only listen to those that have bcos I m choosy, lol. U can’t understand Mandarin? Unfortunately only single voice for this novel but it has a good radio drama but is incomplete. If you’ve any problem with the Viet audio book, drop a comment & I’lll get bongsd to help you. She loves to listen to Viet audio books.
FYI, the Chinese novels in HK & Taiwan are probably diff from mainland China bcos they use traditional Chinese but mainland uses simplified Chinese. Hence, they’ve diff looking covers.
I now also worship at the alter of Peanuts!!!
After spending a whole evening trying to get it to work, creating accounts, battling pop ups and force down loads, google translate, jumping from iPhone to galaxy to iPad to lap top, I got it to work! Hehehe kinda sounds like Siri is reading to me but I won’t complain ^_^
Too happy to care. Thank u thank u thank u Peanuts! With fore-mentioned excessive disorder, I have a reeeeaaaal bad feeling about this awesome discovery! Teehee
No I can’t read mando, I’m Viet but move to Australia since aged 3 an now at 30 only know Viet from many many hrs invested in dubbed TVB Wuxia series lol, copious karaoke sessions and a VERY patient dad that sat there listening to me fumble through Viet news articles and teaching me from that.
My husband is born n bred here so he can’t really read or speak canto n we converse in English. What about u ladies? Decembi your in Singapore right? Peanuts? Moonblossom?
Oh that’s really cool! Moonblossom and I are from Singapore :).
Haha, I just wanted to announce that I have finally translated the famous water scene:
I just started reading this. So far I’m on the Ren Yu + Jin Mi ship ^^ I tend to fall for the second male lead because they’re often mysterious and dark, aka Xiang Liu, Sesshomaru type of characters. I find it totally adorbs how clueless that Jin Mi is! Makes most of the humour in the novel so far, her, the carrot, and Yue Xia Xian Ren. I don’t know why the image of Kurosaki Ichigo (from Bleach) flashed across everytime I try to imagine Xu Feng, which is why he’s been turning me off XD
I’m glad you are enjoying it. Hahahaha, oh wow, a rare Night shipper. I think I ship both Phoenix and Night equally. I don’t get bleach ichigo vibes at all though!!! Hahaha. <3
firstly, thanks for all the efforts (translating, posting, linking, etc). thumbs up for you girls (decembi, peanut, moonblosom, hui er, xiao yuer).
i came upon this site when looking up for Gu Fang Bu Zi Zhang. from here it spreads to other chinese translation site. so happy 😀
i’m a fan for cute little dough (three lives), phoenix supporter (ow yeah, night to kind that kinda suspicious), Huang Fu Yun (gentleman free floating) & Wang Huan (Sun’s Dark Love).
when desperate i try google for translating chinese/viet ebook to no avail. mostly i became confused.
right now i just steeled my heart from peeking at another unfinished translation beside heavenly sweetness and sun’s dark love. waiting is not bad for my heart aaaa 😉 and just read the comments here and there.
Gosh!!! My heart totally skipped when you named yourself as a fan of Wang Huan of The Sun’s Dark Love. AWWWWW. Thank you. I think you might be the first fan of Wang Huan that I know of, I think everyone else supports Xi Yang hahaha. THANK YOU! <3
he3, its becoz Wang Huan maybe weak in martial arts but she has brain and courage.
“… I can only be myself. From birth to now, my one passion is food. You can call me a glutton, I am from the Greed Tribe afterall.”
… the Heavenly Empress thought Wang Huan was an amazing cook, but in truth, Wang Huan could care less whether Crown Prince Sun chose her or not. In her mind, this was an ideal exit to a difficult situation.
==> i’m secretly hoping that she is pro at tasting but bad at cooking 😀 😀
Hahahaha, eula, if you read chapter 10, you will see that you are quite correct. Though, Wang Huan isn’t bad at cooking… just different haha.
Thank you again for the support! Will try my best to work on Sun’s Dark Love & Heavy Sweetness <3
“Beneath this crow’s lower abdomen was a very strange thing, I squeezed it a little, and it was somewhat soft, somewhat hard.”
OMG I WAS LAUGHING REALLY HARD!!

tell me who she ends up with?!?!?! SPoil me haha!
Ok, I hope my spoiler tag works.
Hi, this is squinty here.
I’ve decided to stop haunting decembi’s site and start using my brain lol. Your audiobook link doesn’t work for me so I’ll try another site, but is the audiobook any good. Specifically, does it go into the (ahem) details?
After checking through the spoilers here, I realized. Seriously? There was an underw mutual cultivation scene? But I read (and reread) all of decembi’s translations!! How come I missed it????
Does anyone know of an updated link for the audiobook? The current one does not work. Thanks in advance!
Sorry! I don’t know how to use audiobooks so I can’t help you there.
The mutual cultivation scene:
Oops! Copied wrong link.
It’s chapter 15.3:
Dear Heavy Sweetness fans,
Apologies for the unanticipated hiatus that Heavy Sweetness went on.
The second epilogue about Phoenix and Ji Mi’s son reveals his true form is a egret,(much to Ji Mi’s annoyance). She would have preferred him to be a Hawk, falcon or maybe a phoenix coz egrets are sissy water birds.Phoenix doesn’t care that his son is a sissy water bird and names him after the shop Ji Mi lived in as a mortal. So their son is half Ji Mi’s element and half Phoenix’s species (bird).
Ji Mi doesn’t like it (at first) that her son is a egret/heron but it could have been worse. He could have turned out to be a duck !
I have been asked a few times about the epilogues! Sorry for the break I took.
Just want to respond to those who has been asking, the second epilogue is up:
Finally posted the third epilogue:
Did Pheonix cheat on Ji Mi? I got to the part where Pheonix brought home women and got out hours later with messy clothes… 🙁
The Chinese is very hard to understand.. Anyway knows why did Ji mi kill pheonux?
Sorry which chapter was the cheating part? I don’t seem to see it as I went through all the chapters
