The first life went by really fast, but like most first lives, it ended pretty terribly. So the main girl took a forgetting pill to forget the tragedy that her qing jie was. (The situation is actually like SuSu’s from 3W3L, have an emotional trial to raise one’s level, and then forgetting the whole thing.) I personally like her a lot better after she forgets.
I’m pretty early into the second life, but so far, she is in a male’s body trying to help her troublesome friend, Feng Yin, who happened to have fled, with her qing jie. She is pretending to be ridiculously sappy to the girl this body is fated to be, but the original soul seems to have left the body to play tag with Feng Yin. I’m almost sure that the body is inhabited by the male lead Jun Hua. And the complete this early love triangle is the Crown Prince, who is acting gay towards the male Ye Xiao. Their cheesy lines are making me crack up.

Unfortunately for him, Jun Hua saves Ye Xiao, who looks a lot like her mother. He takes her as a student, and occasionally visits her. Part of the reason is because the Ye family is known for producing great people, and the people love them. Quickly start this. Oh this is so engrossing & fast paced so I manage to get into the book very fast. It is very similar to 3L3W but more interesting & angsty. Currently it is my no. 1 fav book. I am at chapter 6 so will finish all the freebie 2moro:( This is so addictive, I need to find a way to pay so I can listen ASAP.
I think the wine had something added to it? But anyways, yeah, she lost the baby after drinking that wine. She called for Jun Hua, but he was mourning over that painting of Ye Xiao’s mother and didn’t come to see her in time.
I think she just wanted to see the king for the last time bc she knew that she would have to take Nan Xiao’s place after she took her revenge. But he refused so she just left him a message to not look for her in the next life. T.T
I’m not quite sure what Jun Hua is, but he gets reincarnated as a woman, Mo Bing Jie. And the second male lead is a powerful deity equal to the Heavenly Emperor, but he is reincarnated into the human body of the crown prince. I’m a little upset because I don’t think either of the male leads are worthy right now. One used her to stabilize his power and then betrayed her with other women and the other used honeyed words with her just to get her Nei Dan and almost killed her in the process, to revive the love of his life. Both are bad, bad men! >:O

A’Shou said there are 2 endings, one online & one physical book. She is reading from the physical book which has the beginning & ending different fr the online version. According to one comment the ending is sad:( Skyblu, did you read the online ending? If online is happy ending then the audiobook will have sad ending. Oh, don’t know what to feel as I am not that fond of the guys in this novel. Yet, I don’t like sad ending:(
I couldn’t find a complete copy of Fu Sheng Meng, so I read its previous incarnation Bai Li Chang An. It’s a bit different. The first life is different in that he wasn’t in love with her mother and Ye Xiao was never pregnant. There are also extra lines/scenes in the audiobook that help the story make more sense.
The ending of Bai Li Chang An is happy, but I thought it was a bit random and done just so the ending was happy.
It was odd.

Skyblu, help help bcos I am having trouble remembering the names & a bit confused as well:( I am on chapter 15. Isn’t Feng Yin a female? If yes, why does she inhabit the body of Song Zi Mo? Who or what is the name of the friend who asked Ye Xiao to inhabit the body of Song Zi Mo? They are trying to hide it fr Siming Deity right?
Also, I don’t understand what the Crown Prince Liu Hua Xuan said to make Song Zi Mo getting beaten by the guard 100 times? How Ye Xiao survived without her Nei Dan? The lost of Nei Dan happened before or after her meeting with Bai Li Jun Hua? Lastly, isn’t Jun Hua who is from Peng Lai more powerful than Ye Xiao. If yes, how can she trapped him inside Mo Bing Jie’s body?
The thing with her Nei Dan happened about 30,000 years ago. She is about 60,000 years old, Ye Hua is 130,000 and Liu Hua Xuan is a bit older than that since he is the first creature the Father God created, or something like that. She survived because she’s using a sutra instead of her heart, but it’s unstable so she can’t feel to strongly. She has to change it about every 5000 years or so.
Feng Yin is a female, the leader of the phoenix tribe, and according to Ye Xiao, one of the most troublesome creatures alive. (She is hilarious, especially when Ye Xiao reacts to her.) She is inhabiting the body of Song Zi Mo because that is her trial. Feng Yin is also a High Xian. One of Feng Yin’s servant/friend/partner-in-crime, came to Ye Xiao begging her to help, because Feng Yin, who “forgot” to take the sealing potion, left the body and went off to cause chaos. So Ye Xiao has to stay in Song Zi Mo’s body until Feng Yin comes back. Because this is Feng Yin’s trial, being found out is a big no-no.
The trial is actually a pre-scripted show. So Song Zi Mo is meant to be deeply in love with Mo Bing Jie, even though her family is under secret negotiations with the Crown Prince about their marriage. I believe the pre-scripted show was that everything was planned and Mo Bing Jie was there to spy on Song Zi Mo, but she turned out to love him in the end and commit suicide. Anyway, back on topic, in order to cancel that marriage, Ye Xiao said she raped Mo Bing Jie, because reputation is very important, and that she’ll take responsibility by marrying her. The Crown Prince can’t marry someone non-chaste, so he goes for a petty punishment instead.
Jun Hua is stronger than Ye Xiao, richer too. And he is defeated by Ye Xiao’s power, he’s defeated by all the Xian capturing tools. I believe she used everything she and the other friends, of which there were 3 or 4, had. So the combination made it work. Jun Hua eventually loosens it I think.

It has all the ingredients of book I like eg strong male leads, likeable female lead, angst, sweet moments, humour, betrayal, miscarriage, nice songs, friendship, royalty, fighting etc. I’ve told A’Shou that she has good taste in choosing book. I find this book better than 3L3W as it is explained why Jun Hua did what he did whereas in 3L3W it is only explained in the epilogue. Also, the 2nd male lead in this book has more book time & gives stronger competition. I like a guy who can cook & I also like to eat lychees, lol.

Also, the kiddy reader singing in chapter 21 is quite good but I think he needs to work on his voice as it is too soft & his pronouciation not tat clear. Btw, I think he is very young as A’Shou calls him student or kid so Chancy you can set your sight on him:P Quickly start this book to support him:)
My Heart! It’s being stretched stretched and stretched. I just finished ch 4. Both Jun Hua and Ye Xiao uses double edged swords, and I have to suffer with them. The writer always shows to sides, first you hurt with Ye Xiao and next you hurt with Jun Hua. I really like Ye Xiao especially since she’s the first one I’ve read that shows her disgust for the King because he starts having other woman in his harem. Haven’t cried yet, but my heart feels so much tension, but if Miss Author keeps this going, I’ll be needing a sponge.

yes i really love Ah Shou’s selections too! She has good taste hehe. & she tends to go for the more well rounded stories with equal parts humor and angst. Si Lu Min Yin tends to like sad stories more, like the Tong Hua ones. This book really reminds me of Tang Qi’s 3L3W style. In the second life right now and it’s so wack lol. The unsuccessful rape scene was so awkward rofl.
Jun Hua is the main guy / guy she falls in love with all three lives right? Or she ends up falling in love with 2nd guy in one of them? I’m really happy she chose to forget the first life with Jun Hua. It would’ve tainted the feel of the second life. It’s so cute and weird, esp love the messed up love triangle. The 2nd guy is the Prince right? He’s kind of creepy but I like hehe
when Jun Hua inside Bing Jie’s body asked Ye Xiao about whether she would forgive the man who forsaked her, but later realized that he was wrong, it reminds me of when Ye Hua asked Qian Qian about whether she would forgive the person who plucked her eyes. Except here its more angst feeling and we understand both sides better. Love this story!
I wonder who copied who? If she copied Tang Qi then maybe Tang Qi also copied from someone’s else. A good idea is meant to be shared & copied which I don’t mind. But I dislike blatant rip off especially words for words or overly obvious. Although this book is sort of like 3L3W yet I feel it is also quite different. In fact I wrote before this is an improved version of 3L3W bcos I don’t like Ye Hua clarifying the pluck eyes part in the epilogue. Also, Bai Qian’s other guys like Ye Hua’s brother who I forgot his name & the Demon King etc are not as well written as Liu Hua Xuan.

I personally didn’t like 3W3L, and I find Floating Dreams a lot better, no offense to any Tang Qi fans intended. I guess my biggest problem was that Bai Qian’s first life SuSu was too weak for my taste, and had no fleshed-out background. Ye Hua’s audio voice might also be a turn off. I never felt much for any of the characters. Demon King showed up once or twice here and there, his love was so shallow that he would pick a girl with the same face but a terrible personality because she was the right gender. Ye Hua never sat well with me after he took SuSu’s eyes, especially because the reader is convinced that he either doesn’t believe her or that he doesn’t care.
My favorite scene was when SuSu was jumping off Zhu Xian Tai with her saying, “Ye Hua, you let go of me, and I’ll let go of you.” Other than that, I felt that Bai Qian is too damsel-in-distress-y.

Neither 3L3W or Double Blooming Flower was well liked by me, but they were her trademark works. Its actually her Pillow Book that i like the most.
Lol i think u might like Ye Hua more if u try the radiodrama. Made me very lost though because the book was already choppy as it comes, more choppy when adapted into radiodrama. Bonus is swoon worth Ye hua’s voice by petboy.
Back to this book, this love triangle is so deep. Way beyond surface and pass physical boundaries. So un shallow! They’re almost like looking pass each other’s shells and straight to the soul. Lol enjoying these moments while they last.

Haha ya, i want to know if he sounds like luo yin fan or more like qin ke. I think the choice of books has to do with the suitability of their voices. Out of xyw’s books i think mirage suits her best. The character appears very soft outward but very boney and stubborn inside. A shou has more funner choices because her voice is very sha tou? Carefree and aloof?
lol this story is so epic. Both guys screwed up so badly! I can’t make up my mind, but I slightly hate Liu Hua Xuan a bit more because it was her Yuan Dan that he took. Both LHX and JH were hung on past love, both had ulterior motives, both ended up hurting her! These guys…
Feng Er and Ye Xiao is so troublemaker lol. Their punishment for Feng Er’s fiasco on earth is so funny, especially what they did to LHX’s place.
A lot of readers towards the end liked Ah Xuan more. Thinking he deserved Ye Xiao more than Jun Hua. I wonder how Jun Hua could have messed up that would make readers overlook what Ah Xuan had done before. Im wondering if Ye Xiao is actually the reincarnation of Ah Xuan’s dead lover.
The ending was so depressing but, oh my god, the epilogue was so cute. So everyone reincarnates. Bai Li Jun Hua can’t stand having obstacles in his way and desires to walk in a straight line so he ends up using gunpowder to blow up walls. Whenever he runs away from home (to avoid marry Xiao Xiao) he is caught within an hour because people just follow the trail of destroyed walls. The first time Liu Hua Xuan is introduced, he is crossdressing as his little sister, and every one admires his beauty. Little Jun Hua’s jealousy is so cute, too.
I find that the modern elements in this story very funny, like the Gods playing Mahjong and all. Is the Big Cat really walking around as a giant cat? That thought of that is very funny. lol
The bickering between Bai Li Jun Hua and Liu Hua Xuan is very funny too. Especially when Jun Hua asked to sleep with Ye Xiao, that sounded almost like a 3 year old boy asking his mom if he can sleep with her tonight because he doesn’t feel good.
This author really knows how to torture the reader’s heart, but at least she’s kind enough to quicken up the heart healing pace by putting in some funny here and there.

I have to say, I’m not exactly into Cgege’s Liu Hua Xuan voice in this book. I dunno why, opposite of you I actually really like Jun Hua’s voice. At first I don’t like Liu Hua Xuan because of his initial intention for getting close to Ye Xiao was for her Nei Dan. I felt that Jun Hua realized his wrong before Liu Hua Xuan did, so I feel he is slightly more likable.
I dunno, I feel I understand why Jun Hua forsaked Ye Xiao for the Demon Princess. The mortal Ye Xiao was very different from the goddess Ye Xiao because of experience from childhood and the love she experienced with Jun Hua. It’s not just losing memory that simple, it’s like you lost a part of you and that part of you went into another person who inherited that missing part of you. If you just lost your memories, than if you remember them you will remember those emotions also, but because Jun Hua hurt her so much she didn’t want those emotions even. I’m waiting for Jun Hua to redeem himself and waiting to find out what Liu Hua Xuan did that was so awesome which made everyone think Ye Xiao was blind to not choose him.
I suspect you like JH’s character in the book, not his voice:) Cgege is the voice of the funny fren who cried cheating during the mahjong game & also the one who asked Ye Xiao to possess the body of Song Zi Mo.

Yes absolutely! If from Jun Huang side Liu Hua Xuan is like the perfect guy even though he uses wrong methods, but love can blind one’s morals like what Jun Hua did also. I think Jun Huang probably didn’t like Liu Hua Xuan romanticly either or else why would Liu Hua Xuan say he’ll bring her back and let her be with the heavenly emperor and himself will go find Ye Xiao.
I’m finally at part where Liu Hua Xuan is raising Ye Xiao and she thinks that she is his illegitimate daughter. It’s so funny! I know why you like him now. I like him tooo!

Ye Xiao is very amusing in what she does. Them 4 trouble makers are such a matching group. Their cleaning up chore that pretty much demolished half of heaven making the flower spirits come complaining that some demons came on heaven. I like the author’s way of juggling humor with angst.
Whenever Jun Hua and Liu Hua Xuan bicker it makes me conjure up a chibi version of their character, so cute.
I’m almost done, I jump ships too much in this story. Can’t help because both guys are pulling my heartstrings. I’m hoping the writer will just kill them all and give them a clean paper to continue. Too much feelings and histories between them that keeps piling up. Looking forward to the cute epilogue.

He mistaken Shu Jing for Xiao Xiao, because Shu Jing has all of Xiao Xiao’s memories. Those memories were as if she lived them, so she feels what Xiao Xiao felt. That’s why Shu Jing had human Xiao Xiao’s aura. So it would be as if Shu Jing lived Xiao Xiao’s life in addition to her own. I still have 5 chapters to go to finish this book. The 3rd story is too chaotic & sad for me to continue so I took a break. How dare JH stole XX from my LHX & injured him, sob sob….All along, I support my Cgege’s LHX:P I can relate to JH’s being deceived by that demon girl into thinking she is XX bcos she got fragments of XX’s memory. But, if he truly love her as much as he professed, he should be able to differenciate who is the real XX. Such a stupid man doesn’t deserve XX’s love.

Bai Li Chang An is actually a bit different from Floating Dreams. Certain events are different, such as their first life, Shu Jing, and the ending. I didn’t like the ending of Bai Li Chang An, felt so bad for Liu Hua Xuan. I think Floating Dreams made more sense, and was more consistent with the story-telling.
Sorry I’ve been MIA AGAIN! I go to a performance school, so when stuff heats up, it’s like there’s no time to breathe. But thankfully right now it’s Thanksgiving break, and I was able to finish 浮生梦·三生约 in a few days. The way it’s written sort of reminds me of TLTWTMPB, but then it’s more sappy (and in a way more mature at the same time). I don’t really like either guy too much, but I’m squarely in A-Xuan’s camp. The part when he steals her away in the second half of the book to when he refuses to let her go see LHX and how he looks at her through the window….ugh, what a creeper! It helps though that his reader has a nice, mellow voice, even though it was hard to hear a lot of it when he speaks really soft. The funny portions were fantastic, especially her gang of trouble making friends and little YX.
In my opinion, BLJH needs to get a life. He and his sappy romantic dreams too. Xiao Xiao must be blind not to love LHX since he was the one who repented and actually changed. All BLJH did was talk of change and promise of love, and doing underhanded things so she wouldn’t leave. And then guilt-tripping her. What a dastardly guy.
Hehehe…I just finished the novel really, really late last night, so my opinion of everything is still very strong, so please excuse me! Ah….it’s good to be back and see everyone chatting. I’ve been craving a good 仙侠 for some time, and this is just the perfect combination of funny and drama, although the dialogue does tip slightly towards 肉麻… I’m trying to pick up 重紫 and right now the pace is quite slow and there are a lot of characters to remember, but 蜀客 seems to be very detailed, which is nice. For those of you farther along, would you really recommend this book?
Hi Atsu! Nice seeing you back. I totally relate to you on the term “肉麻” to describe the dialogues. It almost sounds too poetic for my senses to soak up. Especially since we use a audiobook, having the dialogues sounding more crisp would have saved me alot of cringing. Like those lines like 你莫要说这些伤我的话。T_T
I’m happy how they tied up this book at the end though. I really liked the reborned Jun Hua and Ah Xuan has a happier life without her.
Go finish Chong Zi. I like it alot. It is very slow, but after 2nd life it is very good. Very suspenseful and you will shed alot of tears, but in the end it’s so happy. Everyone gets a happy ending and prejudiced is removed.

It is angsty at the beginning then funny then back to angsty etc. The part where YX inhabited the body of a male & BLJH the body of a female is so funny plus BLJH sleeping on the same bed as LHX:) I don’t really like JH reader but he seems quite popular with the listeners at cxt8. I only like his singing. I think he is in his early 20s and is a singer of sort.

When BLJH goes “你莫要说这些伤我的话” I was groaning and pounding at my computer, “你像个男人吗?!” I feel like BLJH never thinks beyond himself and his “great love” to put himself in YX’s shoes. I think LHX is a much better man not because he doesn’t make mistakes, but because he makes them and realizes he’s wrong and actually fixes it. In the end, he can sacrifice himself for YX even though he loves her, while BLJH helps LHX because it means that YX could stay with him. I don’t think that’s love – that’s obsession and it’s kind of creepy when he refuses to break up with her. Hehehe, I’m very pro A-Xuan. His name is so dreamy – Liu Hua Xuan!! 🙂

The human SZM-SQZ-MBJ arc was so funny with all the body/gender switching. I’d have to say my favorite part would have to be baby YX and Daddy AX, and how horrified he is when she calls him “Dad” and moons after MZY is just priceless. I could listen to that everyday.

Yes! Those days where AhXuan and child Ye Xiao is my favorite along with reborned Junhua and Yexiao. I’m just happy that she choose to stay with him until he died. At least its not typical sad second Guy. OMG her calling him dad. That was so funny.

Haha, I learned that about those guys a few years back, since I go to school with them. Not at all like the dramas. I think that’s when I stopped watching Korean dramas. Haven’t really gone back since BBJX and I don’t regret it at all.

Have to really say, I am starting to squeal a lot from the amazingness that is Bu-gege’s voice. His Wang Yue inside Chong Zi is so creepy, which is so funny when you realize it’s same guy playing Chong Hua. And my satisfaction for the ending of that book is like hacking away at a big tall tree and watching it finally topple over at the end. WAH that is the best!
I really love how this story closed though, fair beyond expectation. But I do think that she does love Liu Hua Xuan, but different way as she was in love with BLJH. I don’t think with all the past progressions between BLJH and YX, they wouldn’t ever be able to have the simple beautiful ending that she and LHX had before they went and reincarnated.

I will give you spoilers but not too much, haha. Happy ending if you ship the male lead. However peanuts likes the 2nd male lead so kind of sob sob. Actually she did end up with the 2nd male lead in a lifetime. Overall the story is bitter sweet, some tissue wiping moments and some laugh out loud moments. Maybe I will do a review on it later since I like this book. In fact I like this better than 3L3W10MPB.

After reading the synopsis and all the comments here you will have no problem understanding the audiobook. Actually ah xuan also a bit bad but better than the male lead bcos he is not as wishy washy. I dislike guys like Chong Hua and this book jun Hua, men who dun know what they want and only regret after losing the female leads. I will not be able to write anything till mid July. Yes peanuts ! Prefer xian xia genre cos of escapism from the daily grind :p heavy sweetness was my first xian xia and I enjoyed the author’s style of writing. Thinking back the story was just ok but somehow was captivated by the characters. When I first read it, I liked Phoenix more than then RenYu. After reading a second time, I sympathized with RenYu because he was her rightful fiance but the most unforgivable thing for me is that he made use of her to kill Phoenix.
Yup your teacher phobia is well known here I think :p although the relationship is a taboo one in a modern setting but I think some allowances can be made for CZ and LYF – she didn’t have anyone to guide her about such stuff and when she knew it was too late, the others guys (Qin Ke and Zhuo Hao) had too little screen time (!!! I think QK could have been a worthy contender for her feelings if he wasn’t so busy training – even CZ herself acknowledged that) I think LYF really made up for everything in the last chapter when he finally acknowledged his love for her. U can consider picking up again :p

I just got to the point in which the prince visits SQZ (Ye Xiao) at his home (as in the scene translation by HuiEr). It’s hilarious. The prince is a bit creepy, but I almost get the feeling that he knows Ye Xiao is in the body of SQZ. Either that, or he’s gay. :p Do all the players involved know who is inhabiting which body?
I’ve just started reading this. Poor girl, jilted by both guys in different lifetimes. This story definitely does remind me of 3L3W but is quite a bit better. TQ’s writing in that story was a little too modern for my tastes, though she did an excellent job in HXY, which is still my favorite XX story to this day.
Yes, the pace is faster and less irrelevant characters/events. Actually I dun really like 3L3W10MPB if not of little dough. HXY is sad but TQ’s best book.
Btw, your Viet version has a diff ending to the Chinese version. This is bcos the Viet one is based on the online version but the published book has been changed. Lidge complained abt it:P I think the Chinese version’s ending is better & sweeter. Maybe I’ll translate the ending one day when I am free, lol.

I noticed there was a lot of antagonism toward Bai Li Jun Hua at shusheng bar, but I actually felt a lot of sympathy for him. Sure, he screwed up and was an idiot, but I don’t think he loved Ye Xiao any less than Liu Hua Xuan did. (In fact, I think Liu Hua Xuan screwed up more, as he nearly killed her to save a good friend. His reason for taking Xiao Xiao’s heart was admirable, but to sacrifice one life to save another? Who gave him the right to determine who was to live and who was to die?) As for Bai Li Jun Hua, I think his crime was being an idiot. He mistook the demon princess for his Xiao Er, and by the time he realized his mistake, Xiao Xiao was already gone. I felt great pity for this man, for he must have gone through great mental torture to end up mad by the end of the story. To have your love first die in front of you and then meet her again only to have her forget everything you have once shared together must have been intensely painful. He loved her, but his love was very stubborn and almost obsessive, but that didn’t mean he didn’t love her. Anyway, I felt that the story should have ended when all three main characters died. Those three were just not meant to be together. They were destined to fall in love but destined to ultimately separate, and the story should have just stuck to that theme. Xiao Xiao deserved to start anew with a new man who could value her and love her wholly, and not just love her because of guilt and regret for past actions

I don’t think I can listen to an audiobook without the actual text. Although iTunes apple store surprisingly has the audiobook. Haven’t seen the printed book in my country either.
Will just leave the story for now, until one day when someone kindly posts the text online. Or a very last resort, maybe attempt the audiobook.
I absolutely loved this audiobook. Everything about it was awesome. I’ve become such a fan of Ah Shou. My favorite bits are the beginning the first life, which was sooo sad and the parts where the took over to human bodies of their friends Feng Yin and Ye Xi.
Has anyone read Xiao Wang Shu? It’s about Feng Yin and Ye Xi, the story is not as good as San Sheng Yue, but it’s still kind of cute. There’s two different readers reading it. It’s finished with one reader, but she’s not as good as Ah Shou. I like Feng Yin and Ye Xi a lot, but I think I preferred Feng Yin in San Sheng Yue, she got kind of emo in Xiao Wang Shu.
Soo I finally got around to listening to this audiobook. Usually I try to read along but I find sometimes the ebook doesn’t correspond so I only listened to audio. So the names are starting to confuse me like crazy! But compared to Tang7’s 3lives novels, I feel like this is actually more suiting of the title. Ye Xiao’s first life as the queen was horrible! I felt so bad for her. Til now I don’t understand whether Bai Li Jun Hua actually loved her at all! Or did he feel like he loved her but didn’t realize until his trial as the king was up and went back as a god. Then we have Liu Hua Xun, c’mon they spent so much time together, is it possible to have never loved her? Who’s that person that woman that he’s trying to bring back to life anyway? In the end while she got her thingy taken away from her she asked if he ever loved her and he said no? What’s up with that! Both guys hurt her so deeply before 🙁 Me sads. I’m not even sure which one to ship at this point!
Both of them love her in their own ways so be patient and prepare a hanky to wipe your tears. I support LHX but I do pity BLJH. Maybe bcos the author revised the novel quite a fair bit for publication so you ebook is diff fr the audio book which is based on the published book.
I loveee BLJH’s voice thoughh <3 LHX seems a bit deep…oldish. Ugh Ye Xiao died twice because of BLJH, I don't know… I like them both, but they're both very stupid in their own way. I'm on her third life where she's like… ah xun, I know you're my dad. LOL! I think this was a pretty good option after WGTW, it's light hearted but yet so freaking heart wrenching!
I know, right? Bai Li Jun Hua’s an idiot, but the guy’s voice is so mellow and sexy! I also agree that Liu Hua Xun’s voice seems really low and deep, making him sound old. But I think the same guy voicing Liu Hua Xuan also does the voice for Pei Zheng in I Have An Urgency, and I love him in that story! So masculine and sexy.
Is BLJH’s voice Ren Xiao Xe or Xiao Bian C? OMG I can’t believe they made BLJH go crazy then killed him off…. then killed off LHX. What kind of angst and torture, my heart is dying @_@ Then bam the epilogue. Thank goodness for it… I thought my heart was going to sink and never recover. All in all I hate both guys for their stupidity but love both guys for how they loved YeXiao except for the crazy part, kind of unnecessary in my opinion.
I find these xian xia genre novels lovee cross dressing and homosexuality XD hehe it’s so adorbs! LHX posed as his sister ROFL! I find it weird that they always use their original names in different lives o-o And then their lives are all tangled together againn, sighh. Is there going to be a happy ending this time?
Hi I read the old version of the ebook (百里长安).
Can someone share what is the difference between the ending of the audio book and old ebook in more detail? How did BLJH and LHX die? What was the epilogue about? It was mentioned above that BLJH was smashing down walls and running away from YX and LHX was cross dressing as the sister?
What about Shu Jing in the audio book? In the old version, YX said that nobody knew but when she was eleven as human YX, some demon came to find her every night and then slowly the demon’s face resembled her more and more until they looked exactly alike. Then she admitted that human YX had two souls from then on so that’s why Shu Jing had human YX’s memories.

In the old version, after YX insisted on leaving to find LHX, BLJH became crazy and threatened to kill LHX and all her friends so that she will always remembered him even if it is with hate. YX had enough and hit him with a magic blow. BLJH felt a sense of release and told her he really loved her and then fell into the sea.
At that time, YX didn’t know that BLJH had already given LHX 70,000 years of his cultivation and some medication so LHX was no longer in danger of losing his life.
After that, she had some dream of BLJH who gave his blessings to her and LHX and told her to be happy. After she realized that he is the person that she loves the most so his betrayal hurt her the most but he was also the one who gave her the sweetest happiness. After she learnt that he died.
After that BLJH servant came to her a scolding for causing his death, and YX decided to go to the spot when he fell into sea. She found his body still preserved in the depths of the icy ocean. Then she had some talk with BLJH’s sucessor who is a lady called GuHua.
This part was a little confusing – GuHua told YX that did you know that the Heavenly Emperor asked us to attack the Mo Realm and that she actually knows ShuJing (the demon princess) – so this was actually a ploy to get rid of the Mo Realm? Wasn’t very clear.
After that she said to YX: He said are you leaving him in the deep ocean to sleep or taking his dead body back?
YX’s reaply was that actually the day he left she cried until she became blind – everyone says she is heartless but they don’t know how hard it is for the living to continue living after the dead has passed on. She wants to do her best to live because she doesn’t want all the people who love her to feel sad if she chooses to die. And isn’t it because BLJH wants her to live happily so he has to let her go but because he can’t, he chooses the most extreme way. She has chosen life and looks at BLJH’s body and says “What is your choice?” Silence. Then she says “All right, I will wait for you to be willing assemble his soul.”
After that, she continues to stay with Ah Xuan but they don’t talk much to each other. He’s always watching her secretly, but she realizes it. So finally she asks him what is wrong, don’t you want to marry me. And then Ah Xuan tells her : “Stop forcing yourself. I do like you but I’m not the sort who only lives for love. I can die for you but if you leave me, I won’t die or become depressed for life. If you can be happy, at most I’ll just be drunk for a few years after that I’ll look for some beauties and revert back to my playboy ways. Please don’t force yourself.”
After that, YX grumbles and say how can you do this to me (doesn’t explicitly say BLJH name) – I think she is referring to how BLJH seems to be suspended between death and life and she can’t move on.
After that LHX becomes engaged to the dragon princess and marries her. YX doesn’t seem to be too affected and instead is worried about something else. (Quite a funny scene) LHX says that for his wedding gift he expects to be repaid for the several thousand years of her daily living expenses at his place.
Then just as she was cursing LHX for bankrupting her, she hears a male voice saying “It has been repaid.” She stiffens and then someone walks in and hugs her from behind. After a tentative moment, she says “JunHua?”
And he replied that he has returned. And then queue some funny moments where she demands him to reclaim his position as Leader of Penglai Island so that she won’t have to sell her body to repay LHX but doesn’t give him a chance to speak. She throws him out of the house and shuts the door. After that he knocks and shouts “Niang’zi/Wifey, GuHua was only the temporary leader, and besides I have already helped you repay the money, open the door ahhhhh…”
After that the heavenly realms was thrown into a lively chaos.
Only at LHX nuptial chamber, everything was in silence. The dragon princess was sitting along inside while LHX was drinking at the rooftop. And he starts reminiscing about the times when YX asked him for one lifetime together. Then the princess comes and joins him at the rooftop and asked him if he likes her. He said yes but she says no he is liar. He says if I didn’t like you, why would I have married you? Then she says it is because you want YX to let go and not feel guilty. LHX is stunned for a moment and says no I’m not that noble. After that he says that he believes time can lessen the pain and new encounters can arise. And then some romantic between the two. So it seems that LHX also has a happy ending.

Heys Nina, can you share what Xiao Wang Shu is about? This is the first time I heard about it.
The lady LHX was trying to save was the previous holder of YX’s title (幽冥司上神). She, LHX and the Heavenly Emperor was involved in some love triangle. I think LHX was still deeply in love with that woman (JunHuang) so initially he was just pretending to be in love with YX. After that he snatched the pearl from YX, he realized that he was in love with her. (Sigh, really is 后知后觉）
Also, I can’t really figure BLJH out. Human BLJH was both the shifu and an emperor so maybe Peanuts would say he can’t be trusted at all! I thought it was quite disgusting that human BLJH liked YX because she looks like her mum. But even then after all the time spent together, couldn’t he just love YX for herself instead of holding her mum’s portrait and moping? That’s the one thing I didn’t like about BLJH. Maybe he didn’t realize that he actually loved YX for herself and not as a replacement for the mother until after YX died. But I really dislike the human BLJH. After that I think the BLJH the deity always wanted to make up for the wrongs to human YX so when the demon princess came along, he was easily swayed. Then after he killed her, it’s 后知后觉 like LHX again.
The mortal life of YX was really sad. I think Legend of Sun and Moon/Da Mo Yao/ Ballad of the desert’s theme song 白头吟 is really befitting of the storyline. I felt both of the guys were stringing her along for different reasons and then when she disappeared from their lives, they realized how much they loved her. The novel could win first worst impression of both male leads :p
Between the two male leads, I think I’m leaning towards LHX but too bad YX didn’t give him a second chance because BLJH left too deep an impression on her already.
Luckily the book had all the cute antics of her friends (my favourite scenes are the ones where the three leads took over their friend’s places in human realm and the cleaning exercise punishment :D) to balance out the sad parts if not this story would be too sad. I wished the ending was better written as well.
Actually BLJH kind of reminds me of a more lovelorn/crazy Donghua Dijun – in the one scene when YX/SZM asks who is inhabiting Mo Bing Jie’s body and he replies you’re not fit to know. And also the scene when LHX and BLJH was injured and YX was taking care of them both for awhile and BLJH asked if YX could sleep with him. Haha…
BLJH was an overly obsessive boyfriend in the novel. I think I prefer DongHua a loooot more now. Personally I liked Ye Hua more and found Dong Hua a little too much when it comes to his teases.
If I recall correctly, in the end BLJH went cray cray then made YX stay on his island, she pretended to not remember him because she’s too hurt/tired to love anymore. Then she hears from either FengYin or someone that LHX won’t be able to make it, so she rushes out, then BLJH was like, what if I told you he’s okay would you still leave. Then she gives this gut wrenching speech about her love for him, then BLJH goes even crazier and threatens to kill everyone she cared for to make her remember him. Then she got really angry and struck him… with either her sword or something, and he willingly let her. After getting to LHX, she found out that BLJH actually transferred his life or whatever to him. Then fast forward she was in a dream, BLJH was saying his goodbyes and that he loved her then basically suicided(?), when she woke up the bells rung indicating he did die. After his death, there was a new successor that took over the island and banned anyone from you ming si to ever set foot upon the island. YX was obviously very hurt but put on a happy facade because of ones who cared for her. Then one day she was drunk and snuck onto the island to see BLJH encased in ice. Then she poured her heart out about everything to him then got kicked out by the islanders when they found out. After that she married LHX, his condition was weakening as time passes. They lived life as an ordinary couple in the human realm and adopted a son and named him liu hua xiao, he then proceeded to become a fairy/god. But it was super touching because LHX actually learned how to cook and how to do many things for YX, they lived life like that. Then BAM author had to kill off LHX…. before he left he told YX that BLJH has entered reincarnation and that she could go find him if she wanted. So she’s all hurt because both men that she loved left her. Then her adopted son went on to travel for years, only sending letters back to her. On this one day, she went on this bridge (you know where the dead souls cross over to take the blind lady’s soup to forget about their past lives and get reincarnated again). There she meets BLJH’s reincarnation and started crying, he was on his way to be reincarnated, so after he took his soup, she asked for some as well and went into the wheel thingy to be reincarnated. Then we proceed to the epilogue…. BLJH and YX were engaged before they were born (both born on the same day too), but BLJH would always run away from the engagement and their families would make YX chase after him. But then there was one day in school where there’s this beautiful girl in the class that every male liked to stare at, including YX herself. That girl approached YX and asked, why you staring at me! Fast forwarding, we find that it was actually LHX posing as his sister because she ran away from home. So after he recovered his male identity and told YX he liked her and for her to attend his birthday party. BLJH orders someone to go beat up LHX so YX when to see him. During their meeting YX was told, BLJH ran away again! Then she left LHX and chased after him for a few days, after she found him she’s like let’s just get married (she thought before that he liked LHX). Then BLJH confesses and said why would he run away so much if he didn’t like her, it was just to make it more romantic. I literally face palmed at that XD So yeah. Sad ending, but the epilogue kind of made it better.
Ooooh thanks lemonsalt and acrosstime for the ending summaries. I think I like the happier online one more, but the children epilogue is so cute <3. I have always wanted to read this but got so confused at the endings. It sounds quite 虐 (torture genre) though haha.

Np! The audio will definitely be very angsty. But inbetween there will be humour. Its quite balanced, but probably not for the weak hearted. I feel like bljh and lhx were very developped characters but somehow i dont see why yx was attractive… it got really repetitive with the – you never know what you had until its gone theme. Ooo I want to read the e-book now, sounds like the ebook is really different than the audiobook when it comes to the end. I think I like the audiobook end better, but I like Liu Hua Xuan better in the ebook summary, I like that he can be able to give her up and say that love isn’t everything and put her happiness first.
Xiao Wang Shu (浮生梦笑忘书) is about Feng Yin and Ye Xi, the phoenix trouble maker that’s Ye Xiao’s friend (the one who was supposed to be Song Zi Mo) and Bai Li Jun Hua’s friend who was Mo Bing Jie. It starts off going over the stuff that was mentioned in San Sheng Yue, like how Ye Xi saved her before and also the whole life as Song Zi Mo, and also goes over why Feng Yin hates him (he plucked her feathers because a mysterious person paid him to have Tian Di willingly let him “Tiao Xi” him (and Tian Di had agreed to agree to a request to whoever could teach Feng Yin a lesson). I thought that was pretty funny, also the sign that Ye Xi had put up that had a price list for services from him. I also love how Feng Yin’s calls him “mei ren” when they met and is totally a sucker for looks like Ye Xiao is (Ye Xiao also called Liu Hua Xuan mei ren when she first saw him).
Feng Yin then attempts to go through a trial to become Shang Shen again (she failed back as Song Zi Mo because they didn’t follow the script and got punished). She ends up going the wrong way and ends up as a chicken. Ye Xiao ends up losing a game of Mah Jong and goes down to help Feng Yin’s story along (she ends up reincarnating as an attractive chicken). The story was a bit weird at this point, but it somehow ended up kind of touching. Story ends tragically and Feng Yin becomes an Shang Shen. In that chicken lifetime she liked a young version of Ye Xi (this is kind of a complicated story….) So coming back she kind of likes Ye Xi still, but he plans to marry a different girl, but eventually he starts to like her. But then she tries to bring Qing He, the man she loved when she was young who got banished because of her and then died, back to life. Things get complicated and there’s a falling out.
Everything eventually ties together, it was kind of a huge plot that Feng Yin just ended up being in the middle of.
The story is not as good as San Sheng Yue, but it’s pretty funny and it’s nice to see all the characters for San Sheng Yue back. Ye Xiao plays a pretty big supporting role in this story. Bai Li Jun Hua is also back but he’s not all that likable in this story. The end was a bit anti-climatic for me, it just ended really quickly and seemed kind of like that’s it…. But still a cute read/listen if you are looking for something.

Nina – Actually I think the old ebook is not endorsed by the author. The jjxwc.net page where a reader commented on the faults of the old novel (questioning the characters and their motivations) so the author replied and gave her reasonings behind their actions and said some stuff was different in the published book. She said 百里长安 was only the draft copy of her book. However, it is quite hard to find the free complete copy of 浮生梦·三生约. But if you don’t mind, can still read the old ebook ! Thanks for sharing on 浮生梦笑忘书! It sounds quite angsty as well – but bwahhahaha a chicken lifetime?? So YeXi was a chicken in that lifetime as well? I guess if TianDi wants to teach FengYin a lesson, from phoenix to chicken is a big humiliation. Hmmm in your opinion, how is YeXi compared to BLJH and LHX? YeXi also doesn’t’ sound too likeable.
Across Time – thanks for posting the new ending – it sounds better than the old one. The old ending was kind of abrupt and rushed – like hey BLJH suddenly reappeared. Also I like that YX gets to spend one lifetime with LHX. “Then BLJH confesses and said why would he run away so much if he didn’t like her, it was just to make it more romantic.” – ermm you have strange ideas of romance BLJH. Haha.
Decembi – you can give a try, it’s quite a short book so it’s quite a fast read/listen. The male leads are not the best initially but they tried to redeem themselves in the end. But I really enjoyed the hilarious parts of the story.
There is quite a bit of angst, but not as much as San Sheng Yue. I kind of wonder if this would have been better with a better audiobook, it’s not bad. It’s just not as good as San Sheng Yue’s which is like the best audiobook I’ve ever listened to.
Ye Xi was still himself and not a chicken, he just threatened to eat Feng Yin and then eventually starts teaching Ye Xiao tricks because she’s a cute chick and he wants to give her to the girl he is wooing. Eventually he goes into the Ling Shu Jin (or something like that) and ends up reverting to his childhood self and then embarks on a love story with a chicken… she does eventually cultivate to a human form by going through a “tian jie” which Ye Xi blocks for her.
Ye Xi is awesome. I like him better than both Bai Li Jun Hua and Liu Hua Xuan. I like him better than Feng Yin even. He’s really funny. In some ways he kind of reminds me of Dong Hua from Pillow Book.
To give you examples of what Ye Xi is like, the price list he put up in front of his house was something like:
To see me: one small pearl
Talk one line with me: one small pearl
Have me accompany you for tea: 5 small pearls (bring your one tea and water )
Have me drink alcohol with you: 10 small pearl (bring your own alcohol)
Dancing, singing, playing qing the complete package: 3 Big Pearls

Beating someone up: Market Price (if less than 5 large pearls are offered, will refuse to see)
And like when Feng Yin beat someone up and broke his leg, she was afraid of getting in trouble but Ye Xi came and threatened the guy’s father. And then later asked Feng Yin, “You know what you did wrong”. Feng Yin said, “I shouldn’t have fought with people.” And then Ye Xi was like no, you were wrong in that you didn’t just beat him to death.
Ye Xiao described him once as a guy who comes to visit and steals your cups and plates. It’s kind of interesting that he’s such good friends with Bai Li Jun Hua since they are pretty different. The one thing about him that’s kind of harsh is that he lashes out when he’s emotionally hurt, he acts like it doesn’t matter to him and tries to hurt the other person even if it hurts himself more.

Yea, he’s not really the lovey dovey sort. The huge plot is sort of the plot twist in the story. Should I put a spoiler tag on in case anyone wants to read it? Or just go ahead and just post it.
Yep, Ye Xiao and BLJH returned to heaven and resumed their old posts as Si Ju and Dao Ju. They are pretty cute, but kind of lovey dovey. The dynamics of the relationship are definitely a little different in this story. I feel like in the first book BLJH was always guilty about the original life and catered to YX, but now he is definitely more equal and even the one in control of the relationship. Like how he refuses to live at You Ming Si, so they both just live in Peng Lai Dao. He still lets her do whatever she wants and goes and saves her when needed. He seems more stick in the muddish in this story because he definitely doesn’t really like Feng Yin (and it is her story so he seems like that disapproving friend’s parent).
It seems like he even left her to die at a certain point, I was kind of surprised by that since he’s a well respected God. But thinking about it, it makes sense BLJH is really only kind to those he cares about, mainly Ye Xiao. Otherwise, he doesn’t seem to really involve himself. Like in the first book where he just helped San Gong Zhu try to take over the heavenly realm. I was really surprised that no one was a little upset about that and that they just accepted him back. They sort of do that in this story too…

Actually it is ok to put the spoiler tag if you know how to do it. Most people here don’t mind spoilers because it helps to understand the story especially if Chinese isn’t their first language.
Hmm I think that San Sheng Yue (SSY) scenes were more hilarious but Xiao Wang Shu has the better love story. Although in both stories, it’s betrayal by the male leads than redemption and forgiveness from the female leads. Ye Xi wasn’t what I thought he would be – not very comical (was the comical a facade?) and quite a serious character after knowing the backstory.

Oh actually I like BLJH much better here than in San Sheng Yue – glad that BLJH and YX can be lovey dovey because the previous story had so much angst. BLJH reminds me of Dong Hua much more than Ye Xi. Perhaps in the first story, other things/people were more important for BLJH, so this time round he placed YX as his top priority. I think that’s quite natural since he lost her so many times so he treasures her more than ever.
The standout in the story is the friendship between YX and Feng Yin in the second story. They are really good BFFs – as deities/chickens/life/death. Glad they could persuade their respective hubbies to reconcile with each other :p
I was really surprised that no one was a little upset about that and that they just accepted him back. They sort of do that in this story too… – Maybe there were some people who didn’t like they did but I don’t think it matters to BLJH and Ye Xi cos they seem like quite thick skinned people. Plus one guy is a islander and the other lives on a mountain so they’re isolated :p
I actually like Ye Xiao’s love story better. I really liked the first life and the Song Zi Mo/Mo Bing Jie arc. The ending didn’t seem all that abrupt in San Sheng Yue to me. I feel like there was the whole Ye Xiao death in San Sheng Yue, and then the growing up and then everyone elses death that was actually pretty long. I do love the epilogue too.
I thought XWS was a little more abrupt with the ending, but not as bad as San Sheng San Shi Shi Li Tao Hao, that epilogue came out of no where for me. I think I preferred the ending where Ye Hua died, even though I totally loved them as a couple. Kind of same for Pillow Book. I kind of find all of the Xian Xia books I’ve read/listened to have watered down endings (I’ve only read 4, Pillow Book, shi li tao hua, XWS, and this one, all of these stories sort of ends tragically and then poof actually everything turns out well. It’s almost like the author just wrote an alternate ending. San Sheng Yue made the most sense to me in that so many things happened and everyone just needed to start over for things to work again and they let a lot of time go by and all reincarnated.

Good point about them (BLJH and Ye Xi) being isolated, they both are and they both don’t really care what others think of them. Ye Xi more so even. Yea, Ye Xi is kind of a dark character, kind of reminds me of Loki. It’s kind of sad that he’s born to take on that role.
I didn’t think about it before but now that you mentioned it, the Xian Xia novels usually end tragically and then poof, all’s well that ends well! Did you read the ebook version of Xiao Wang Shu? Actually the ending deviated a little from the usual tragic->poof magic->happy ending storyline.

Ye Xi actually walked the road of redemption, bleeding and all, gained the forgiveness of all the souls he harmed and found Feng Yin at the end. Then they could return to the Heavenly Realm.
So I liked that I could actually see Ye Xi redeeming himself instead of the usual magic poof where everything ends well but we can’t see the logic behind it. Yeah actually the thought of Ye Xi as Loki also crossed my mind when I read it! Very interesting duality to his character that could be explored abit more in depth (especially the dark side).
San Sheng Yue’s love story was much more angsty and the first mortal life could be a standalone novel. I did like the tragic first life storyline but the second betrayal by BLJH on their wedding day was hard to stomach. Also LHX taking Ye Xiao’s heart/pearl is quite a terrible betrayal, did he know that it could have been at the expense of her life? Ye Xi and the other guy betrayed Feng Yin too, but although it was terrible, it didn’t feel as gut wrenching as SSY. (I must admit though any of act of betrayal is still a betrayal) I considered XWS’s love story better because the betrayal wasn’t that bad (comparatively) but I understand your POV of SSY’s love story, in some ways it is more
memorable.

Ahem, so far I’m on chapter 6 of the audiobook. I skipped chapter 5 because I couldn’t download it for some reason. So far, my thoughts are: that guy in the beginning Su Jun Hua, I think? Total a-hole! Misunderstanding, ‘liking’ her, killing her baby, his crimes go on and on. Am I supposed to accept that he gets a second chance with her???
Perhaps the tragedy between them is their lack of communication and their positions–he is the king, and though she is the queen, there are plenty of other women, like her mother… Another reason why I dislike this guy.
But I really, really like his voice… Every time he says ‘Xiao,’ I uh, blush and giggle. His pronunciation is a bit soft, so sometimes I have to strain to hear it, but overall his voice isn’t bad… by not bad, I mean really not bad.
Hoping he doesn’t waste his second chance…
Oh, okay, I’m on the last chapter. Let me say again, Bai Li Jun Hua almost made me change my mind, but then he left Ye Xiao to chase the past (again!!) and after she dies, he still clings to memories, unable to truly love the current her.
If he had learned from his mistake, he had truly fallen in love with her the second time, rather than only ‘liking’ her current self and reserving his love for the past between them, then maybe I would have been touched and built a ship. As it is, I personally flooded my canoe with tears.
But the cruelest thing was that he still burdened her with the past, even dying for his own self-satisfaction. Too clingy!
So, I like Liu Hua Xuan a lot better, because although he seemed a little side character-y all through out, at least he loves her, current and past, and was even willing to give her up for her. He might have been a little too weak and traitorous for my taste, but he made it up by reviving her. That one scene when she was seven and he was all like ‘I’m not your father, I’m your man!’ I literally fell off the bed laughing.
Sigh, despite this, I can’t properly ship any couple, because all three love so deeply, yet there is so much misunderstandings and regrets. Because of that, I dislike Bai Li Jun Hua’s fixation on the past the most. He is unwilling to wipe the slate clean and restart, whereas I feel that would be the best the ending, to forgive and forget and start again, which happily, the ending in the audiobook did.
The funniest moment award would still go to Liu Hua Xuan, for that moment Ye Xiao discovered he was a guy, but could only ask ‘Did you wash your hands?’ And he wiped them on her face and was like ‘No!’
Who is the male lead? Im thinking of starting this book along with killing of 3000 crows. Which should I start first?

One of the most painfully fickle and annoying female lead who can’t seem to decide who to be with, and can’t stick to a decision but vacillates between Junhua and Ah Xuan based on whatever that crops up – basically depending on who sacrifices more for her she will end up going with him but always thinking of the other. This goes on for 3 bloody lifetimes, literally. Painful, I can’t say it was boring per se, it was definitely the groundhog’s day theme running through the book. By the time you are halfway in it is too late to turn back and you will have to painfully endure.
ML is Baili Junhua.
And Xiaoxiao is not fickle… NOR DOES IT GO ON FOR THREE LIFETIMES. As the Empress in her first mortal life, the only person she loved was Baili Junhua, to the extent she even jumped 九鼎 for him! And as Song Zimo, it was super clear the one she liked was Baili Junhua – all their hilarious exchanges 😛 With Ah Xuan is was more like friendship.
And Xiaoxiao has said it several times herself. The one she loves is Baili Junhua. After Baili Junhua mistook Shujing for her, even after Ah Xuan wanted her to return to their old days, she said that she and Ah Xuan can never return to those days. He was too late in returning, and now that he had, she had already fallen for Baili Junhua.
I also dislike fickle FLs who oscillate between MLs but this novel is not one of them. It is clear Xiaoxiao has moved on from Ah Xuan the way Si Yin moved on from Li Jing. Bai Qian cut more ties with Li Jing compared to Xiaoxiao with Ah Xuan, but that doesn’t mean Xiaoxiao still loves him romantically.
