[Ebook] [Audiobook][Eng Translation]
Anyone read this book before? Just finished listening to the audiobook. Found it thanks to 云天河&红樱桃 their voices are so nice!! Highly recommend this story if you like Xianxia novels like Journey of Flower 花千骨. It’s short, but is very good! Have to be able to tolerate a open ending though, just a warning…
The story was very confusing to me at first, couldn’t even figure out who is the main guy haha!
Ooohhh…. Sounds interesting. If anyone knows more about the plot or main characters, please elaborate!!!
I don’t want to give away any big spoilers, but the main girl looks exactly like the girl the main guy was in love with, and at first I thought it was your typical guy finds ex-lover’s reincarnated life , but you will see it’s a lot more complicated than that the farther you get in the story. The main girl really cares that she looks like his previous love, and that drives a big wedge in between them. But I have no doubt that he was 100% in love with the main girl, or else I might ended up hating the main guy! This author is very tricky and the plot is full of plot twists, very creative!!
I don’t mind spoiler pweaase. Is the main girl die?
The main girl dies, but that’s not really a spoiler since the author spoiled that on the first chapter already haha!
So is the entire story told in ‘flashback’ or memories since the main girl dies in the first chapter itself?
It sounds like an interesting story but terribly heartbreaking too
The first chapter is a prologue. It’s actually a snippet from a later part in the story. At first I thought chapter 2 was going to start in the next life time after she dies lol
The girl dies yes, I’m still mad at the author!! The story is very interesting to read and keeps you on your toes. The main couple is very sweet, you can’t help but keep going back to the earlier parts in the story when they were together. It’s not the usual “forbidden love” thing that goes on in most chinese fantasy books/dramas because the main guy this time is the demon god (character like this is usually 2nd or 3rd male in other xianxia stories) so he doesn’t really care what anyone else thinks, he only cares about the person he loves. But in the end they still weren’t able to be together *cries*
Someone please spoil me …I’m using google translater and getting now where. The only things i understand is the last epigloue for the male lead so sad..Pls pretty please…
You mean when he finds the little girl? He hears a little girl calling her playmate a big useless turtle and he tells her to say it again, but then he starts tearing up. It makes me tear up too… Poor main guy. Its not written clearly if this little girl is the main girl’s reincarnation but I want to believe she is. She has dimples and acts exactly like the main girl when she was a kid. Plus she likes to call people turtle when she’s mad.
Does anyone know the viet title for this novel? I’ve been searching up the author (viet name is tây tây đông đông) ,but I haven’t seen this novel in particular.
@ChocolateCosmos This book is one of her non-published works. Her published book斩情丝 Cutting the Love Thread is more popular. I don’t think this book is that well-known. If it weren’t for the audiobook, I would have never picked it up. I’ve been translating it to english though, but not that many chapters done yet so I haven’t posted it onto the translation page yet.
This was soo good, but so sad. I can’t say that the ending was either of their fault. Everything was just the wrong thing said at the wrong time at the same place. Or maybe this is the calamity of Jin Yan for doing so much to save Nan Zhi. Of all the faces Qin Yu could have chosen, he chose Dong Hua Shang Xian’s and had the catastrophe that caused. Or the way Ling Xi’s body deteriorated with her spirit, if her hearing were better.
Although if Nan Zhi were slightly better with words, things could have turned out much better. But then if he were better with words, he wouldn’t be Nan Zhi. Nan Zhi really did love Ling Xi, and if he recognized her when Jin Yan first possessed Ling Xi’s body, maybe everything will be different.
Although I still don’t understand what Feng Su meant by, “Do you remember yet?” Because I don’t think Jin Yan has any relations with Feng Su. But it’s nice that he missed her genuineness and respect, even if he deserves everything that he got.
I don’t think the girl in the end was her reincarnation. Qin Yu said there was no trace of her left, because her heart has died so she has nothing left and is no longer willing to stay. To her dying breath, she thought that Nan Zhi loved Chen Xi and Ling Xi was just a replacement. It is a nice thought, but, unless, an external miracle happened, the turtle thing seems like a coincidence. It was something that Nan Zhi needed to hear, or have hope for.
But overall, it is a really lovely story and the audiobook is great.
Yes it was all Dong Hua’s fault!!! If he hadn’t meddled, Nan Zhi would never have awakened and he would still just be her black flower. I cried a lot at the end out of anger haha. Ling Xi’s mind is too stubborn, but even if he did tell her he loved her, it wouldn’t have changed anything because she has too much other problems going on all at once. And he never found out who she was until after she died and Qin Yu told him everything. His hair turned all white, my poor Nan Zhi…
I can’t blame Dong Hua for everything. He was trying to fulfill his own love. His own love gives up her memories every 10 years in order to not love him. By a thousand years, he was crazy and will do anything to get her back, even if it means ruining other people’s lives. I feel like his love story was meant to parallel flower Nan Zhi and Ling Xi. It would never be accepted because spirits are not people, they do not have enough of a soul. Although, both a spirit and the demon lord are unacceptable, but at least a demon lord has enough power to force everyone else to accept it.
I think the saddest part was when Ling Xi asked Nan Zhi if xians, yaos, and humans are all the same to him. And he said yes, because they were all equally insignificant to him. And it’s true, when the soul gathering ritual failed, he killed everyone in his way, even though Ling Xi made him promise not to, because Cang Jia didn’t matter at all compared to her soul and her body. He was so upset and crazy that Cang Yu lied to him. And the demon world being a reflection of the demon lord’s mood. It used to be blue and happy, but after Ling Xi’s death, it was dark and gloomy. And the little bird’s excerpt, Nan Zhi was a demon lord, but for Ling Xi he made sure that the spiritual air was completely xian without a trace of mo at all, and how he knew the entire time but never said anything.
I think the only chance for a happy ending was when Jin Yan took over her own body. But Nan Zhi had to say Chen Xi. It was probably both because it was the logical idea, as her spirit is floating around, and because he couldn’t bear to hope it was Ling Xi. And she misunderstands that everything he has done for her, going to plays and being with her, was for Chen Xi, when he was actually calling her a Ling Xi imposter. It would have given her enough hope to stay. Even if she had died, if even a sliver of her soul had stayed, Qin Yu could have regathered it. They are all immortal anyway, they have enough time.
The only comfort I have for the ending was that Jin Yan really loved him so much that, although she misunderstand that Nan Zhi loved Chen Xi, when he was in danger of dying, nothing matter anymore and she just did what her heart told her to do. I think even if she would never be able to come back, she had no regrets.
Dong Hua’s love story paralleled Jin Yan and Nanzhi too I think, because it was actually flipped around! I found it really interesting how Chen Xi’s reincarnation possessed the power to shape-shift, so in a way, she still retained some of Jin Yan. But obviously there is too little of Jin Yan left in Chen Xi’s reincarnation, because she just fell in love and got married with some random guy which killed off all hope I had. If it was Jin Yan, she would only be able to fall in love with Nan Zhi, just like Ling Xi did, It was so funny how in the beginning of the story, a lot of the readers in the audiobook comments were saying how cold-blooded she was because how much Feng Shu sacrificed for her and she was still able to fall in love with Nan Zhi. That’s because the only one Jin Yan is capable of falling in love with is Nan Zhi, it’s deeply embedded in her soul.
I have just finished the audiobook, are there any other ones that have a similar storyline?
I haven’t read it yet, but from the summary, Half-Tried LIttle Deity seems pretty similar! Best of all, it’s a happy ending!!
wait so ling xi and chen xi are two different people? and who’s is jin yan, and how is she related to ling xi? someone please help, i’m so confused….
From what I remember, Jin Yan, one of the magic mirrors with Qin Yu, is the former form of Ling Xi. In the first lifetime/timeline, Nan Zhi is one of the sons of the God, but as a halfblood, the Empress wanted to kill him. Jin Yan, who loves him, gives him the power to pretty much overpower everyone else in the heaven realm. During this time, Jin Yan is unknown to Nan Zhi , there is a girl, Chen Xi, who he cared for.
When the Empress plots to kill Nan Zhi, Jin Yan tries to save him. The result ends up with Chen Xi essentially dead, Nan Zhi sealed, and Jin Yan shattered. As a result, Jin Yan became a child with Chen Xi’s face. Thus, all of our misunderstandings began.
This is still a beautiful story, but I really can’t push myself to reread it and watch everything slowly break apart.
so chen xi and ling xi are two different people? jin yan/ling xi just happens to look like chen xi after her soul shattered?
And what’s the story behind feng su? how does he connect with ling xi/jin yan or evem chen xi in the past?
someone translated this up til chapter 13. hopefully she continues it till the end.. for now im really up for any spoilers .. what is Feng Shu’s relationship with Ling xi before they went to Cang Jia Shan.?
when he shielded her and his soul scattered there was a scene like this
“Feng Shu’s gaze fell from her face, a light chuckle escaped as he sighed “Still.. you can’t remember…”
As far as the translation goes. its said that both feng shu and Ling Xi are the same in a way that their souls has no past and would only get One lifetime. so I assume somewhere in Feng shu’s long life he somewhat met Ling Xi another form or something??.
begging for spoilers for this pleaseee
